I looked at it this way 1000 + for the PC 500 + for memory and video card and other upgrades to play games 500 for a new monitor 350 for a gaming chair then I would spend 40 bucks for a controller and complain it was trash and didn't work. The investment for gaming was made but I wasn't making the investment in order to enjoy the computer and the games I buy to the fullest because I was cheaping out on one of the most important pieces. It would be like spending thousands of dollars on a car to make it pristine and show car quality and then putting wheels and tires you bought at a garage sale on it. But a $60 or $70 standard XB or PS controller would be like putting stock wheels and tires on it. A $300 controller is like putting racing slicks on it along with spinny rims with a dollar sign on them. And whitewalls. I figured I had that much money into my gaming...might as well complete it by buying the best controller on the market. It made playing games fun again. I'm happy with the investment

Makes me glad I play on console instead. $400 for a PS4. No updates required to play games. Use the TV I already have and use as a TV. I play laying down on the floor so whatever the cost for a couple pillows is. $10? With the money I saved I was able to buy an unnecessary set of fancy tires and spinny rims for my almost 10 year old Pontiac G5. Which turned out to be a really stupid idea when you live in Brantford.

If you can get an XBox Elite for 100 bucks....buy me a few. They're close to 300 up here after tax Has TGC2 and TGCT become pay-to-win? I'd much rather play in CC-wagtunes than pay that kind of money to improve my chances of moving up. No. It is a choice we make to play with MS standard equipment which is what the game was designed for. Lastly, my replacement Elite controller plays exactly the same as the one that was 3 years old that MS offered to replace for free. There is NO advantage over a standard XBox One controller other than it will last a lot longer.

Glad your PS4 works well for you. I played the Xbox One version from the September 11 to this past Monday while I was recuperating from major surgery. It was nice to play on a 65” 4K HDR screen from my recliner. I went back to the PC version this week and there is no comparison to the X1 version as the PC simply outclasses the X1 version in every way. I had considered buying the X1X coming out next month, but I will pass until HBS updates TGC2 to take advantage of the X1 and PS4 Pro. To me it is a no-brainer, but I guess HBS doesn’t see it that way.

Canada and all so things and tax are more expensive here. Personally I don't really care what controller people use to play here. Be it a 10 year old piece of junk, brand new standard controller, fancy expensive first party controller, or mouse altered to hit dead straight every time. I'm here hoping to play at a level I can be competitive in and that means it doesn't really matter to me if I ever climb to the top or not. So if someone gains an advantage from their controller either unfairly or due to it being higher quality I don't really care because inevitably they'll move past me and I will no longer be competing with them. Part of the reason I don't care what club type anyone uses either. Just being the kind of person that looks at the MSRP $75 price tag on a PS4 controller and already thinks that's a crazy price so one selling for almost three times beyond that price is kind of shocking to me. No disrepect meant to anyone who has decided to buy one.

Was looking at the latest DS4 model and was tempted to retire my current backup (that has a button that sticks) and make my current one the backup. $44 was almost enough to get me to pull the trigger, but I did not. Maybe I can find one around Black Friday for cheaper.

Standard BF deal the last couple years I believe has been $39.99. That's when I got my current one.

Canada and all so things and tax are more expensive here. after tax...the price of the controller + the adapter + the extended 5 yr warranty = 275 and change....so close to 300 still a very sound investment to me just based on the quality of the controller alone. The 5 yr replacement warrant was worth the additional 40 bucks I see they're on sale right now at BestBuy Canada...still at 170(before taxes) for just the controller though(no warranty no adapter) www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/xbox-xbox-one-elite-wireless-controller-hm3-00001/10255697.aspx?

I remember when you got 2 controllers and the light zapper with the console. Spending $60 on a gamepad sounds ridiculous to me; I can't fathom dropping a car payment and the electric bill on a gamepad.
