Season 4 Update
We are going to re-arrange the pro tours in order to better sort players into similar skill groupings. Starting with the addition of a new top tour called PGA+. The European Tour will drop down below the PGA Tour and above the Web.com Tour. Promotion now goes from Web.com to European Tour to PGA Tour to PGA+.
New Order of Tours
Here’s how it will shake down.
- Auto-promotion to PGA+ via WGR ranking (Top 50 - starting January 8th, 2018)
- Cut/clear strikes at 70
- Double strike line at 100
- Projected fields at 140 players

Reshuffling of Members/Assigned Tours
After season 3 is complete we will reshuffle the membership of the PGA and European Tours as such:
PGA+
Top 10: WGR
Top 40: Hottest Players/Last 5 Weeks
PGA Tour
Next 70: WGR
Next 70: Hottest Players/Last 5 Weeks
European Tour
remainder of PGA/European tour players
Season 4 - Start Date
Plan is to take 1 week off after Season 3 ends. During that week we'll:
Season 4 start date is tentatively set at October 16th.
Ryder Cup/President’s Cup
We’ll adjust the Ryder Cup and President’s Cup auto-selections to be based off WGR points. The President's Cup will be rescheduled for sometime in the winter.
Season 4 - Playoffs
Will do a deeper dive into how this will work after we get through the first few weeks of Season 4
Apologies to European Based Players
My sincere apologies go to European-based players as I know playing on your home tour is a major reason you enjoy TGC Tours.
At the end of the day, the PGA+ will be very competitive. If you want to be ranked as one of the best in the game you will have to beat the best week in and week out. You will also have to play consistently well to prevent demotion.
Putting all the best players in one tour opens up the rest of the Pro tours for a more balanced experience for many more golfers. That’s really the bottom line and is why we are making this move. I think the majority of top players will enjoy the challenge of the new tour. We'll also see hundreds of others enjoying a more competitive environment weekly outside of the PGA+.
