Most of us already know and feel that way.
At some point, the "he's not a politician" excuse needs to stop. After exploring a previous presidential run and then spending over a year campaigning and now 8 months holding office, he IS a politician. And just like the rest of them, Dem and Repub alike, he is a corrupt, selfish, greedy little s.o.b. But he also adds a level of ignorance, lying and incompetence that goes beyond the normal politician. Way beyond.
I understand wanting something different. But that "different" also needs to be capable, otherwise it's just biting off one's nose to spite their ugly face, which appears to be what happened.

From a foreign affairs point of view, which obviously I'm most acutely interested in, it does look like a bit of a sh%$ show since he started. His knowledge of World affairs appears to be practically non-existent AFAICS. Matched only by his tact, grace and diplomacy. Unfortunately those skills are being examined in detail by N.Korea and the lack thereof may end up dragging us all into WW3. I have some friends in Japan who right now aren't feeling v comfortable at all. Also, nice to see twitter being used as an official diplomatic channel...  On the home front, I'm sure he's doing y'all a great service making that landmass great again - I hear you're getting a nice new wall  For balance, I must concede he has succeeded in his number one ambition - turning the White House into a game show - you're fired! And so are you. And you. Who are you? You're fired too! Covfefe! |

All we can do is try to keep him in check for the next few years (or less if he gets impeached at some point, pending what SP Mueller ends up with). Our landmass was already great before Trump, we certainly did not need him to lay out the false pretense that America is anything but great. That line is an insult to me as an American. Me and those before me worked hard, fought hard, paid all the costs that needed to be paid along the way to get this country where it is. Far from perfect - which is why we strive to always become "a more perfect Union" - I'd still wouldn't want to be anywhere else but the good ol' U.S. of A. The only wall being built here is the one that separates the President from reality. It's been on ongoing project for decades. We'll survive the Bullshtter in Chief. I am curious about those who are still supporting him. I'd LOVE to know why. What are you expecting from him - in some detail please. Don't parrot the talking heads on TV or the internet. Jobs? We're almost at full employment and it isn't because of Trump. That trend has been in play since the previous administration. Wages? Yea, good luck with that. the controlling party in Congress doesn't even want to raise the min wage. They need to have poor people so they can feel better about themselves. Healthcare? Good luck. They have every opportunity to fund the ACA and adjust the problems within it, and it would be a LOT easier than what they think they were doing. I'm convinced that the ONLY reason they haven't taken that much easier route is simply because it is referred to as "ObamaCare" and was put in play by the opposition party. The "repeal and replace" theme isn't about improving health care. It's about getting Obama's name off of it. Incredibly incompetent reasoning. Foreign Affairs/Mid-East wars? Please. Just don't. Lol. I get it, he knows more than the Generals. Smh. Tax Reform? We have no idea what his plan details for it yet but rest assured, the rich will get their breaks and the rest of us will continue to swim upstream. Economy? Ugh, no. The trickle down theory only looks good on paper. It doesn't work in the real world. We know because we've tried this already and it practically sinks the ship. Corporations will not trickle down their profits to create more well-paying jobs. they will bank it for their golden parachutes. They may create a few min wage jobs here and there but nothing meaningful has ever come from trickle down that was sustainable as an economic model. I'd love to know what his present-day supporters are really supporting here. Please, have this conversation with me. |

The only reason Trump was elected was because democrats were stupid enough to put up Hillary Clinton as their candidate.. Any other democrat would have beaten Trump.. Anybody... Obama would have beaten Trump if he could run again.. Bernie the Clown would have beaten Trump.. Hillary couldn't beat me.. So when democrats want to dog Trump, it's your own damn fault we have him.. The country leans democrat.. Get us a better candidate next time !

Kind of agree with Airik - Hilary was establishment personified - in a time when people are calling out for change. I was hoping Bernie would get the nod - but do think the fact that she was a woman had some bearing - that glass ceiling certainly does need a good polish...
Unfortunately Trump is even more in the pocket of big business than Hilary, so nothing will improve for the masses that voted for him under his watch... just more of the same cronyism...

But politics is really important. And discussing it is exactly a thing to do if we're to keep being free. Otherwise you risk just sleep walking into a fascist regime - you'll recognize those around the World, they're the ones that like to remove all political discourse and discontent...
