NOTE: Please do not post on rounds that have not been revealed on the leaderboard. Moderating is in effect and they will be removed. Please use the Locker Room threads to discuss rounds not revealed. Thanks! The Press Tent will be a feature on TGC Tours where you can come in after a round or tournament and answer some questions from the press. You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!

I commenced the first round proper on the day of publish, unfortunately i was not then aware of the putting changes and left a few uphill putts short, this puzzled me as i never ever leave putts short, still i battled on and limped in -6 after 3 putting 3 holes and missing a few birds. It was only when reading the HB forum that i became aware of the putting change, very poor of HB not to ensure we all knew what the changes meant. As for the course..well it's links and 94% shots creep into my game when playing links courses, had two approaches drop short in round 1 and could only scramble for par, so not a big fan of this theme. The course plays quite well although you may require a bit of luck with bounces etc, wind is prob not gonna be a factor because i cannot imagine one player setting out in anything above 10 mph...have just finished rounds 2 and 3 and played much much better now i am aware of the putting change, did start the final round also and a 94% approach on the first has cost me a birdie chance already, but at least i am more confident about the putting now.

i played in winds over 10 dogz, played all rounds in one sitting, but on to the press release of round 1:
Jeremy Blaylock 65 (-7)
What was wrong with your putter today? I have no idea, but it sure was acting strange, putting speed was all over the map. I hope this is not the beginning of a new trend for me. (HB patch putting: not knowing what the changes were, and it effected many pc players)
So how many strokes did the putting cost you do you think? Enough, more than enough.
How did you feel hitting your driver/woods/long irons? I was spot on, most accurate ive ever been in terms of hitting my spots, controlling distance, it was just firing on all cylinders with those clubs, too bad the putting was wonky or I could have set the PC course record (currently 60 (-12)).
Are you looking forward to round two? Not really, wish I would have known about the putter and the new physics introduced. Perhaps get in some practice rounds or something, but whats done is done, and I have to live with the damage and make the most of it.
Currently trying to decide if I will make the cut or not after two rounds, well, the decision is not really up to me, I need some poor shooting across the board to happen for me to have a chance.

if you played in winds over 10 mph then kudos to ya because not many players will, 1st round was about 8-13 for me 2nd and 3rd rounds were kind, don't think i saw any higher than 9mph...started the 4th but had to leave it.

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? Got to be making a par on the 18th played the round in 10-13 mph winds
What was the low-light of your round/tournament
Approach shots kept leaving my self on the wrong side off far too many holes but putted ok.
What did you think of the course?
Very nice course some tricky driving holes and tough pin positions
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
Did ok with the wind shot -9 was not trying to beat anyone in particular, kept a eye on the leaderboard for some off the good scoring players from last weeks HTOC
Ask your own question and answer it!
What do you think off the level off competition in the PGA
I knew it was going to be tough but wow some good scoring, making the cut is not going to be easy.

We are here with Jason Rosol, who shot an opening round 62 (-10) in round 1 at the Sony Open.
Q: What was the highlight of your round today? A. I would have to say my driving accuracy. I believe my FIR was perfect today, which allowed me to get my approach shots close to the hole.
Q. Where you disappointed by anything in your round? A. I was a little bit disappointed by my back 9. After shooting -7 on the front 9, I was entertaining thoughts about possibly challenging the course record, but I missed a few putts on the back that I felt I could have made.
Q. What did you think about the course? A. It had some interesting tee shots. You really need to practice a few rounds to know where and where not to hit your drives.
Q. You shot a 59 in rd one last week, and followed it up with a 69. Can we expect a better performance in round 2 this week? A. Funny you should ask. I already finished my round 2, and let me tell you (TV station signal shuts off and when it returns, they are showing highlights of round 1)

What was the highlight of your round?
"I’d say the highlight was a few critical saves for par that kept my score from creeping back closer to even. My PB on this course is 11-under so I’m pretty happy with a 9-under on the opening day."
Any low-lights?
"Definitely the putting. I left a lot of birdies out there, particularly a short 3 foot putt that broke too far left. It seems there’s some kind of technical glitch with my putter as a result of my club “manufacturer” attempting to fix what ain’t broke."
What did you think of the course?
"This course will really favor those that have played enough rounds on it to account for wind fluctuations and determining carry distances, as well us understanding the best way to hit the fairways. This track will punish any difficulty hitting the shorter grass."
How did you fare on the leaderboard?
"I’m going to call this one a moral victory. While I think my first round score will be somewhere just above the middle of the pack, the person I was gunning for (Doyley) didn’t have the stones to enter this tournament, so I’ve already won. ;P "
What are you realistically aiming for this week?
"If I can end up top 20 or top 30 this week I think I’ll be happy."

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? -Seagull taking a poop on my head.
What was the low-light of your round/tournament? -Probably not making the cut after having high expectations. I have been putting together some really nice rounds lately. Bogey on a par 5 caused me to throw my golf ball in the Atlantic. U-571 is still looking for it.
What did you think of the course? -Its a nice course but I played in the wind so global warming can enjoy the CO2 that came out of me from many areas.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? -There is a leaderboard?? I beat Doyley.
Why does the Six Axis not do well in linear algebra? I missed this in Interstellar.

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? I started out great....Birdie/Eagle. The wind was howling 14-20 mph and it was nice to get a good start for what I knew was going to be a grind with the wind. Finished with a 64 which is fairly decent in that wind.
What was the low-light of your round/tournament? I was playing well but kept misjudging the effect of the wind. I missed numerous greens because of the wind and found myself scrambling for par from bunkers and green side rough. I guess on the positive side I got lots of bunker practice.......
What did you think of the course? I like North Atlantic. It took me a few practice rounds to get used to the lay of the land but I feel like I can go pretty low here (if the frickin wind dies down!).

So you played your first round, how did it go?
For the first time in months I played a bogey free round while in Hawaii so I'm very happy. I think a 63 (-9) is pretty respectable.
How were the winds?
One word, BRUTAL. They kept gusting up to 18mph tho occasionally dropped off to almost nothing for a few shots. It really kept me on my toes.
What highlights do you have?
Started off strong with birdies on 5 of the first 6 holes. Made a forty foot birdie on 9 which got the blood flowing. I think that was probably the longest putt I have made since I changed my grip. I had one more nice birdie on an extreme slope, you know one of those that you throw out there trying to get close and it happens to go in? Yeah one of those. And I closed nicely with a birdie on 18.
And Lows?
I left three or four strokes out there. Two putts should have gone in. I had the read right just pulled it for some reason, I blame the new putting stroke. The other one was a par 5 on the back nine i managed to hit in 2. Decided that I had a good game going so I would press and try to chip in from the fringe for an eagle. Sadly I bladed it and it ran over the edge and down the front of the green. I should have played smart for the guaranteed birdie, but I had to settle for a par.
Any final thoughts before you go to round 2?
Only that the front nine is where you need to make your birdies. So many holes set up nicely for a birdie attempt. The back nine most of the holes par is a great score and if you birdie one it is a bonus. It seems -11 was the best round so far so I'm only 2 shots off that. -11 is definitely possible if not a few strokes lower.
I'm hoping to make the cut this time around, I missed it by a shot last week so i know i can do it. I just have to stop the silly mistakes. Right now I'm going to into town, find a gal or a bottle of rye, maybe both and have a relaxing night.

Coming in at -19 after 2 rounds. You must be pleased? I am chuffed! My target was -16 so I am well ahead of that and currently in 8th! More than happy
2 Shots off the lead... Think you can challenge? Yes, definately. I think -40 will win this and I am more than capable of hitting that after my first 2 rounds. We even had 14mph winds!
Alot can change though? Its tough out there? Yes, I appreciate that most of the top 10 from tournament of champions are yet to set off, however I am in the Top 10 as it stands and thats where I hope to stay until round 3!
You are assuming you will make the cut then? Dont ask stupid questions!

Round 2 Jeremy Blaylock 64 (-8) (-15 overall through 2)
Did you change anything from round one? Yup, my scorecard, i didn't want to use up the rest of the eraser off this pencil.
Did you get the putter fixed? I really didn't know it was broken, but it did seem off both rounds. I did however, spray some WD-40 on it and whack it a few times with a hammer and then add some duct-tape to all the cracks the hammer put into it. Thought that would fix-er-up quite good.
How were you hitting your woods? Long and hard my friend, long and hard.
Are you ready for round 3? If I make the cut, sure.
You do not sound confident about the cut line?!? /blaylock walks away after nodding his head and mumbling the words "ya"
Back to you Bob

Press tent with Jason Peifer ( -9 after first 2 rounds)
After a good showing last week in South Africa, how was your first ever PGA event? Well, I am a little disappointed with my performance. My rounds were filled with bogeys and the wind wasn't even a factor. Had some real problems finding a consistent swing. Seems like I am not getting all of it at times and I kept coming up well short.
That's to bad, did you have any highlights? I saved a few long par putts, but that was about as exciting as it gets.
Any chance you will be playing on the weekend? I am not sure. There is a lot of rounds to be played yet, so I am not holding my breath. I am probably going to chalk this one up as a learning experience. I brought the family here to Hawaii, so we will spend a few days on the beach and then head home and get ready for next week.
Thanks for your time....
