Not to mention completely stupid of them, considering that the TGCT admins probably boosted sales of TGC2 by over 500% because of what they do. The fact that HB is jealous over that is just bad leadership. They should be rolling out the red carpet for those guys!

Societies are great if you have a group of friends. Points, earnings and stats all get kept tracked of. I have 10 people in mine and it works as HB intended.

Hey Eric, I'll definitely join your Society if you get it up and running. I loved the Designer Hall of Fame society, and I would love to see it keep going on the XB1.Or at least your iteration of it.

They are definitely jealous of the way TGCT have been running things IMO. Jealous because they hadn't thought of a concept such as this when they released TGC1. Now it's their goal to undermine all the hard work everyone on this site has put in. This is just my opinion but in all reality the writing is on the wall for everyone to see.

If I had any friends, I could imagine creating a society and the group of us could enjoy gaming together without all being in the same room.
1) I need to find some friends 2) The goofy 5 society limit and only 1 owned society needs to go bye bye in a hurry. 3) Allow published society tours to span all platforms, if not from a leaderboard perspective, at least from a being able to see . join and play from any platform...
Then we would have all the things we liked about community events in TGC1 with the added bonus of "best friends clubs/societies".

I would love to be president of a DHOF XB1 society but I'm already hosting a society so the game won't let me create another one... and I'm not even at my 5 limit. Ugh! 😖

Just an update, I'm keeping the xbox society up and running for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we can get a bump in participation eventually. PS4 is dead for sure.
If it does end up fizzling out I can rename it if somebody wants to start it up on XBOX. I can give access to the stat sheets to update and stuff like that too, but we can jump that bridge if needed.

Hmmm... well... okay... now if we just wouldn't have about 10.000 small & useless Societies that each and everyone created with only a handful members in it, this would probably be worth something. But it's (obviously) not.

I play it every week once I found out about it. Its one of my favorites to participate in given the quality of courses used. I was sad to read it was shutting down a few pages ago but happy I kept reading this forum through the end.
I have noticed on more than one occasion a request to bring back a tours option has been made only to have this be totally ignored by HB. I think even someone early one had a petition to keep this alive and if I recall the answer was that it would be difficult to implement. I'm sorry but I don't see that. The community events are the life blood of the community IMO and give a lot more visibility and motivation for newer designers to design who may not be as well known or HOF worthy. It definitely gives new publications more plays. There are a lot of people too who love TGCT and participate in the weekly events that have more passion invested in the community events. Community events are how I came to know more people and became generally interested in what they scored, and rooted for them in tours that i was not in, developed rivalries with, and so on. The communication, the bonding, the smack talk, the fun in those events has all been eroded and gone for the most part. It really is unfortunate how this has all played out to date.

There's nothing to be added to this. Well said, David! It's a shame that HB seems to totally ignore that...
