Never played a F1 game before, but really enjoyed watching/listening to Canucks streams last year while playing TGC. How accessible are these games for a newcomer? Watch the occasional F1 race on TV when I can catch one, but definitely not a gearhead (enjoy the overall strategy stuff, but not really the detailed car tuning stuff)
Also wondering, how does the game play if you don't want to do 75% or 100% races? If you play a shorter race, do the tires wear faster/gas drain faster so that you are still able to get into pit strategy and what not? Or do you simply just do less laps?

Looking forward to release tomorrow too.
Time to get to grips with what sounds like a beefy improvement on what was already an excellent 2016 effort.

It's really hard to get good at in my opinion. I struggled even getting 5 seconds within the leaders... per lap. If you do short races they are just less laps. There's no pit strategy.

Im going Crazycanuck1985 style - full distance races which brings pit/tyre strategies into play.

Its accessible for anyone who has played driving games before. You dont have to worry about setup if you dont have the knowledge. Just set the AI to the appropriate level and you'll be fine

It scales down to your percentage as low as 25% races. So srategy is important even on 25% ers.Not the same as a full race but obviously ya tires go off alot quicker, along with fuel management.

If you want to get the most out of the game -- and learn a little about setup geometry, aerodynamics, centrifugal force, etc along the way -- there's all kinds of resources out there. I get it....it's a bunch of reading and tuning a car is time-consuming... but it's very satisfying to solve the setup puzzle.

How are the classic cars?
Great to look at, and the sounds of the engines compared to the modern cars are fantastic but...they are bloody hard to control!
