Looking forward to this, out on August 25th. Always been an F1 fan but never had the time to get into it fully, have now, so looking forward to the much deeper career mode they look to have added in this years game. www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/131108I did also manage to painstakingly watch the trials and tribulations of George Costanza through Crazycanuck1985 and his many YouTube vids - most enjoyable, especially the full length races. Andre, im wondering what your thoughts are on the upcoming game considering the amount of time you spent with '16, and also anyone elses input. Ill be streaming it plenty when i get into as will no doubt many other fine folks here on this forum. And the red lights are out...GO GO GO

I've had this date circled on my calendar for a while now. The gameplay looks relatively the same, but the career mode looks A LOT deeper. This is what I'm most excited for. I'll be back doing full length career mode races once the game releases and posting them to youtube. I've never been an F1 fan until I played '16, now I love it. Can't wait to dive in and get racing again.

No Manor to start with this year.
Who you thinking?
Haas? Renault? Reviving the ailing McLaren?

I'm an F1 fan and a sim racing enthusiast. But the series lost my attention a few years ago when they were just re-releasing the same game with a different interface. Haven't played the last couple of versions, but may pick this up if recommended by you guys...
It's not got VR support tho, which is a bit of a miss - racing games are superb in VR. Hopefully they'll patch in support like they did for Dirt Rally.

2016 was the best version Codemaster have produced by a long shot. I've not played it as much as I'd like due to TGC and other games and I think I'll hold off on 2017 for a few months. I want to complete a couple more seasons on 2016 before I move on.

It's all about the new guard now Edi.
Talking of which - have they programmed the AI with Verstappen's 4 changes of direction under braking?

Paul as an rally fan I can tell you Dirt Rally is not realistic at all Yep agreed - it's handling model never felt very good to me - very simple - but tbh having never rallied in real life, I have no real yardstick. But it is a lot of fun to occasionally cane it up a mountain in VR

I want to complete a couple more seasons on 2016 before I move on. Agreed 100%. F1 2016 was/is truly captivating. Graphics and physics were outstanding, and the AI, though not perfect, was much improved. Car setup is still not quite as detailed as I'd like...particularly with there being no ability to check tire temps across the tread, as you do irl in order to test and fine tune your car setup. Game still needs a setup guide for those without car tuning experience. Sure, you can d/l any number of setups, but there's much, much more satisfaction to be gained from dialing a car in by yourself - but doing so successfully requires some understanding of the setup process, and the role that weight transfer due to cornering, accelleration, and braking plays in selecting a setup. The one circuit that still gives me massive headaches is Suzuka. So many ways to get it wrong there.

I'm really looking fwd to seeing the 2017 incarnation. Have you been brushing up on car setups in the offseason? I'd wanted to drop by the Sauber development center in Hinwil, Switzerland again this year, but got waylaid with client meetings π I'll be glad to sign on for another year with the Crazy Canuck Racing (CCR) team in 2017. I'm sure Warrior will be doing the same! The one thing I really hope that CM has addressed are the odd rogue ram-your-ass-from-behind AI moves. Thankfully, no limit on flashbacks last year to compensate for it, but I'd rather the AI was made a little less reckless. What time on Friday? See ya soon!
