Tim and I were talking about this and we both found that the adjustment was very minor. I think it all depends on how you putt - the spyglass effect must have allowed for a wide range of methods to be successful. For myself, the method I use and decribed in the Tips & Tricks sheet required no adjustments. Sure, I noticed the need for accuracy when setting power was more important, but I must have been pretty close to begin with since I haven't made any adjustments.
Another user that moved the spyglass out of the way entirely prior to the patch has said nothing's changed for him. So this leaves me to conclude that the people having the most issues adjusting must have been living on the extreme edges of the spyglass prior to the change. [/span][/quote] I agree with the living on the edges of the spyglass statement. For a couple of weeks I played by moving the aiming marker way out so it would not be an influence. What I noticed is my previous putting stroke was not working, setting the aiming marker and then give the stick a flick. Now needed to pay more attention to the length and speed of the swing which was really sweet. Also playing this way I noticed how the ball came off the clubface felt more realistic with more speed which held the line better. Which meant you could play less break and you didn't get that illusion that the ball was breaking instantly. The different speed greens also had a different feel to them, the fast greens no longer felt like I was putting with the parking brake on. Eventually got tired of moving the marker each time so went back to the set method but with a better stroke. This change with the patch has given the same feel to putting as when I was moving the marker so I think it was a good move. I won't be that hard to adjust to learning to make a proper stroke on the ball for those that relied heavily on the spyglass.

Learn to putt without the marker, then bring it back into your game and things should be easier. Putting without the marker would definitely help hone in your distance control.

A few things have dramatically changed my consistency with my putting recently. First I did go into the Course designer and re-established my reference points for my back swing as it pertains to the distance the putt will travel (without the marker).A Big factor I believe is I actually started checking my frame rate and discovered that at the MAX settings as far as High quality and my screen's largest resolution I was running a dismal 8FPS. I have made some adjustments that while they don't give me nearly as quality of eye-candy as I'd like, have dramatically improved my overall ability with actually hitting the ball more consistently, especially when it involves Putting it has also had a huge affect on my ability to hit the ball less than 100% more accurately when needed, although that is still a work in progress . I'm still tinkering with the combinations to try to balance quality with playability, but it was a major step in improving my game if no where else but in my head . I have also religiously been checking Tips sheet and Carry Yardage for the clubs with loft adjustment. Hopefully with a better frame rate, some actual practice both playing rounds and in the course designer just hitting the same shot over and over combined with actually using the information I have available...My scores will get a little lower in the coming weeks. I really believe that my FPS was more of an issue than the Patch...but we'll see how this pans out.

Posted this elsewhere, but here's my test without using the marker - I found that I didn't have any issues hitting the distances to the holes w/out the aid and that's probably why I'm not noticing the smaller spyglass effect from the new patch.
