Two days I am done playing. I've modified my controller, which DQ's me from the tour. I'm only staying on to continue my duties as a Ranger. This is the agreement I have with Scott. This way, I can test the courses accurately and somewhat enjoy the game even if I'm no longer eligible to play on the tour. Now you guys can get back to your rag fest, I am so glad to be done with the lot of you. |

@wagtunes You can keep the ball in play with a "tuned" controller? Maybe if you get a PS4/One controller you could return to the game with no problems. Nice avatar BTW |

@wagtunes You can keep the ball in play with a "tuned" controller? Maybe if you get a PS4/One controller you could return to the game with no problems. Well done on paying up your end of the bet. Hey you know what? It's no skin off my nose. I've DQ'd myself from tour play by modding my settings. I'm only here to ranger courses and help the community. So you're effectively rid of me once the season resumes. When you guys get back to talking about cut lines and scores and whatever, I'll have no reason to be in those threads not playing the game anymore. And in all honesty, it's probably best for everybody involved. Good luck with the season when it resumes. |

Take care of yourself Steve. This game has done nothing but give you angst and send you down a dark hole of frustration. I will be honest and say I don't look forward to reading threads that you participate in anymore because they usually all turn into a sh$tshow (not always your fault...but sometimes it is...just my opinion).
I think this is more of an extended break and at some point you'll return when enough gets fixed with the game. It's too bad though, there was a lot of anticipation for this game but it seems to have fractured this community more than I would have thought.

I will make this short and sweet. Too many bugs with this game and my contempt has gone to pure hatred of it. I'm not going to list all the bugs, not the least of which are the FPS issues, the "don't putt too quickly after the scene transition or your putter will go right through the ball" and the "let's just give you an extra stroke just for the heck of it" nonsense. So I'm done. I mean, really done. When I go from being in a really good mood after a morning in church to being in a really bad mood after just 22 holes (I quit after hole 4 of round 2) it's time to move on. For the few friends I had here, I'm going to miss you. I'm especially going to miss Scott. You've been great to me. But this has gone beyond not fun. To me, this game is broken. Someday it will be proven and the fixes will come. Today's server load trying to just hit the ball straight was a prime example of something that needs major repair. Anyway, take care. TGC 1, in retrospect, was fun. TGC 2, not so much. PS - No, I won't be returning to this thread so feel free to have at me. For the players that have the patience to see this game get fixed, I hope for your sake that it does. Peace. Well, I know exactly how you feel Steve, as I've been as frustrated as you since day one, and that's just playing on my own. I'm not even going to attempt playing competitions as the frustration will be 10 x worse. The one thing I won't be doing though, is walking away from the game, as my love of golf is too strong. I've just haven't given up hope that one day, HB will get it right. I don't mind how difficult a game is, as long as it's the same for everyone. And when I hit a bogey, I want to see the error was down to me and not forced on me because it's built into the game. The gameplay on TGC1 was virtually faultless and fair for just about everyone. Every shot I played in that game felt natural. Why HB had to change something that worked so well, I will never know. |

New bet - when does he next post a score on the tour? I'm going with the very first official event.

It can't happen. I am using an illegal controller in order to be able to continue my ranger duties or I would have quit completely. Even with that, I shot 10 over and 8 over on the last two PGA courses I tested. Absolutely horrible courses. The one has been scrapped (thank God) and the other, not sure yet. But no, there will be no scores posted because I have no desire to reset my controller back to legal status and go back to banana hooking my ball all over the place. So you are just plain wrong. Dead wrong. |

I have two choices. 1) I play with a legal controller, play in the tour, spray the ball all over the place, hate every minute of it. 2) I play with an illegal controller, DQ myself from tour play but somewhat enjoy playing the game and continue rangering courses. Only a complete moron and masochist would choose number 1. Scott and I have already discussed this. I had turned in my resignation and was walking away from this place. That's how much I had come to despise this game. Scott was the one who suggested that I mod my controller, DQ myself from the tour but continue to ranger courses, if I was okay with that. I am. At least I get to be part of this community. So no, there is nothing to see. If nothing else, I am way to frickin' lazy to go back into the settings and reset my controller. So unless some leprechaun magically resets it for me, I will, from this day forward, have an illegal controller that will DQ me from tour play. That's my fail safe. Even if I wanted to play again, I can't. I will return to this game when HB fixes the sensitivity of the Tour Club swing and stops making it FPS and server dependent. Until then, no a chance in hell that I ever play on the tour again. |
