Placebo effect, the thread.

Tried it myself yesterday finally.
While I definitely didn't do any hardcore testing, I saw absolutely no difference on my shots when being (un)plugged from/to my PS4.

I finally got sick of the lag at the top of my back swing and plugged my controller into the PS4 and turned Bluetooth off. Huge difference for me. All the latency is completely gone and I was getting perfect/perfect swings almost every time with tour clubs. It didnt help my slice, but at least I am able to get full distance out of my clubs again.

How do you turn off Bluetooth?

How do you turn off Bluetooth? I noticed that it would only work when I used the USB cable that came with my PS4. You have to then go into settings>devices>controllers>connection method. Turn the connection method to USB cable instead of Bluetooth. Once this has changed, your controller will shut off if it is not connected by the cable.

Turning off Bluetooth only works on PS4 Pro and only with the 2nd version of the PS4 controller that came out in Oct 2016. The one with the grey instead of black sticks and with the lightbar on the touch pad. If you are using a V1 Ps4 controller, it will use Bluetooth, period regardless of the settings in your console....

All this is gibberish anyway. I tested it. Inconclusive. It's HB and their sh%$ servers. I did find that if I start/stop my backswing and THEN hit my shot that the results are significantly better.
Minimizes quite a bit of snafus on the server side of sh%$ in my book.
Then again, I play while fairly gone off green stuff a bit. Might be my imagination.
I'm not elite or top level enough to offer any REAL advice.

I just purchased a new nothing special SONY controller and corded. Switched off blue-ray and I literally did not have one single stutter. ZERO lag for 18 holes. Still can't golf but it was night and day for me. Seriously

Still can't golf but it was night and day for me. Seriously I bought a high speed coated cable for my controller and turned of bluetooth since last week. Night and day difference for sure...heck...I can hit pretty decent shots with tourclubs:), but I need more practice with the driver on other clubs no problem, but sometimes the stutter is there, especially when putting.

I think HB is using a string and can for the sever so using a cable for your controller is par for the course!
On Xbox it is a time thing for me. Peak hours are bad but off peak it is mostly smooth.

Thank you for that information!
Definitely saved me quiet some time searching that setting (which I would have never found).

I do not have a PS4 Pro but I do have a newer DS4 controller and turning off bluetooth works just fine for me. I know it is working because when I unplug the controller it completely shuts off power to it and is not functional along with an indication on the screen when it shows battery life, there is a USB indicator showing how it is connected.

Playing this game (TGC2) with Bluetooth, both on PS4 and PC...makes this game nearly unplayable as far as I am concerned. Back to back rounds on TPC Sawgrass, one on Bluetooth on PC, one wired on PC...shot -9 wired, +3 Bluetooth. Constant lag, bananas everywhere, slow, very slow, fast and very fast downswings. And I have a good Bluetooth receiver on my PC and was sitting literally 2 ft from the PC. Same problem exists for me with PS4 PRO, although I did not bother playing back to back rounds. But could not keep it in the cone even 50% of the time on Bluetooth.
Now maybe there is some other element involved (interference of some kind), but what I experience is definitely not placebo between wired and bluetooth
I think all the "elite" guys in the top 50 in WGR should have to play on Bluetooth only with tour clubs. Call them "Elite Tour Clubs". Maybe then they would only beat me by single digits in each round. LOL
