this got me curious how many top players bail or choose the easier swing an answer to this I would love Even if it's not an enforced swing I would still be using tour and would continue to do so until iv sussed it out.

I don't think the Tour clubs are that much more difficult than Player clubs. I'm a lowly CC-Am player and while I struggle to hit the ball straight on Tour clubs, it is a repeatable miss that can be accounted for. I can't see myself giving up the extra spin to hold greens to hit the ball straighter.
At the same time I think it should be up to each user what set they want to use.

Havent played enough yet to be sure, but the tour clubs seem manageable after a round or two. Learning to chip, pitch and flop again is proving tough. Is it just me or are short putts breaking a little more than in TGC1?
This is going to be like a reset button. Rankings won't be accurate for 12 months now. Here's hoping we won't all be hitting from the exact same places and scores are a little more realistic.
Also - Ryan Hammond wears girls panties and has a bag full of hybrids...

Started my first 2 days with the game solely on Player clubs, got them down and made the transition to Tour clubs, played one round thus far, at Turu Wero, in 11-13mph wind and finished +1 with several red numbers and nearly just as many orange ones, had fun, was challenged, was punished when I stuffed it up and was happy when I executed well and was rewarded with a good golf shot result.
As a result I think the top two tours at the very least should be forced to use TOUR clubs.

Still waiting for my xbox1 disc to arrive and looking forward to challenge of tour clubs. HOPING to mimic my 10 hcp irl with my bad shots either a snap hook or a block right with my dodgy in to out swing plane. Just one question, is there a A1 iron choice, my favourite club?

I dont see why everyone has issues with low scores and use the saying "birdie is par." Par doesn't matter. Par means nothing in competition. Golf is all about getting the ball in the hole in less shots. How you get it done really doesn't matter at all. Imho how it gets done really does matter. The game offers a lot more than you'll ever see with easy swings - making good recoveries is exactly what Golf is all about - and what the real game players have to deal with *all the time*. And that's what we're here to play right ....Golf ....in all it's glory ...and beastliness?

Just to add - haven't seen any Players Clubs hate here - this thread has a title of "debate" - and people are putting forward opinions, that's all I see so far

Pretty sure I'll be using tour clubs and it won't matter how good/bad I am. I'll then fall into which flight I belong to. I just want to have fun and that means not expecting to birdie every hole and missing the fairway being much more of a common situation.

I tried it briefly and on tour swing I found it is just as difficult to hit as the driver.. but limited uses as I took it back out fairly quickly.

After many rounds yesterday with the Tour swing, I will likely use that exclusively here at TGCT official events as I just enjoyed it so much more even though I found it quite difficult. I have seemed to manage my duck hook into a regular hook or even sometimes just a draw. If I end up dropping to Web or lower then so be it. But at the same time I don't know if I like 'forcing' people to it. Hope that makes sense. Glad I'm not an Admin to have to make that choice.

That full reset in WGR is looking rather tasty at the moment 😂

Ironically, I have found the tempo part of the swing wasn't my worry. I should have been worried about how NOT straight I push that little analog stick/button.

As a result I think the top two tours at the very least should be forced to use TOUR clubs. That's exactly like I feel. Knowing that i can make a bad swing does improve my interest on the game. It takes my autopilot mode away from me, since with the previous game was impossible to have a bad swing. I love the fact i have to concentrate! I love having bad swings, cause that's golf. I do make them in real life and professionals too! Tbh, i started with tour right away amd haven't even tried anything else. I can see myself playing the game with training wheels. Or like someone said, playing Bowling with the barriers on the sides lol. The game is new, you don't have to be amazing at right away. Hit the range and play many rounds. Find a system and you should be good enough soon. For example i based my swing tempo on the animation, since my tv has no game lag, this is possible for me. A friend of mine has a crappy tv and has slight lag, so he stopped concentrating on the animation but creating a feeling with the control movement. I was never really good, reached Web and left for a while. Came back and asked to be demoted to CC-A, and went down to B at some point. Then lost interest again and left for a long time and recently got back at it, managed to play Wk37 and realized the game was over and a new version was about to be released. Couldn't be happier! The reason i left was based on the game itself, didn't like playing on autopilot mode. It became simply A and quick swing. No danger whatsoever! Right now I'm loving the fact that sometimes i taking the 3 wood, just in case, on a tricky tee shot. Or not flopping every single shot when i know i could screw up, rather going safe with a chip or pitch and getting my birdie. For those having problems with flopping, use the practice swing first. Make sure you can get it right. Cause just like in real life, if you rush your down swing... Youll top it

I don't think we should force club selection. I know this would upset a lot of people who would want to play tour swing but would feel forced to user player just to compete. The ideal situation is that changes are made to balance out the swings making them both viable options depending on player technique, course selection and condition. If that was possible it would add so much to the tour. HB were reluctant to change anything in terms of difficulty after swing gate but surely this is the best time to make such adjustments. It's a shame this wasn't correct after beta as I'm sure this was brought up then.

This probably won't be popular because of the ties to the actual RL tours, but how about this:
Instead of PGA and European Tour, we have two top tours where one is open to all swing options and one is Tour only. They could have similar or identical payouts (money, WGR and points where applicable) and crossing over would be okay, but obviously you would abide by the swing settings in place for each if you crossed over.
