Unfortunately for some, they are never satisfied with decisions made by the Administration here and continue to belabor their decisions and mock and belittle me. I'm not going to get into the specifics of something that happened 18 months ago and that was agreed and settled by the Administration team, but once again I have been called out by someone who has accused me of cheating in the past and who continues to cheat and refuses to use a controller (like using a mouse is such a bad thing).
I would simply like to point out the difference between my issues and people like Steve and Alexander is very simple. I was NEVER caught cheating. I saw something I could not explain, felt something was wrong and was proactive to alert the administrators that there may be a problem. I went to Doyley and asked him to spot check a round of mine and he found a concern. Working with them and doing a lot of research I did indeed find that due to the default settings of the mouse I had, I was receiving an unfair advantage over others. Of course even with this advantage I wasn't winning tournaments, the highest rank I had achieved was a 20th place finish, along with a 45,46 and 114th. Still I admitted to the admin that while it was unintentional, it did happen. I rectified the situation and even posted about how mouses users needed to be aware of different settings when they loaded in their software, as I found out 2 of 5 mice that I had turned on settings we shouldn't have been using by default. I also offered to go back, start back in Q-School again and make my way back or accept whatever punishment they deemed appropriate.
The admin at the time felt I had been pro-active, forthcoming and that it was an honest mistake and unintentional. They said they would keep an eye on me and let me continue on without having to restart Q-school. I have never heard from them again after the issue but I can safely they have never found anything to even hint that I was cheating. In the end they made their decision (in this case not to punish me), closed the subject and moved on.
Unfortunately for some, not everyone was able to do so.
So yes when things like this come up I can empathize with people like Steve. I went through hell and a lot of ridicule. I did admit to my mistakes, atoned for them by helping other mouse users with their settings and accepted the decision of the admins, and then after all that, still worked with the admin after the Masters and HB to help identify other exploits and bugs in the game. It saddens me that others can't move on.
Finally, there is no crime in using a mouse. I would love to use a controller because even though it would irk me to have to pay separately for yet another piece of equipment, I have tried using one and in many ways it is easier. Also since the December patch, I think those using controllers have an advantage. Unfortunately I cannot physically use a controller for any length of time and I remind this person again of the reason why. Three operations, this being the latest. I simply can't do it.
I apologize to those who have already read all this before, but we have a lot of new folks and after yet another accusation on a long dead issue, I needed to explain again. I hope that this person can finally accept the Admins decision and move on, because every time you bring it up, you are slapping the Admins in the face.
Finally I post this picture of my thumb from a week ago. I get my stitches out tomorrow:
