First I have to say the designer has done a excellent job with the set ups 4 challenging days but all for different reasons need a lot of different shots in you game this week. I went out to play ultra safe this week after my last 2 weeks missing the cut. After 6 holes sitting -1 playing with my recently repaired clubs I decided to switch to my new set I did improve but a -5 no frills first round had me nervous. Second round played a lot better with confidence up ! The short par 3 i hit my shot and as it flew I started to stare the ball down glanced at my caddy and said "that's in the hole", the ball pitched 2 yards short bang on line hoped straight at the hole. I jumped up celebrating my first ever tour HOI. Only to realise it stopped on the lip . I persisted on laughing through out the rest of my round and managed a solid -9 so Rd 1 -5 Rd 2 -9 Total -14 I think that will make the cut but hey I've been very wrong before Round 3 started birdie birdie birdie . Missed 5-8 footers on 45&6 then my round started to unravele dropped 3 shots parred a par 5 and just general silly play by myself. I hung on to another-5 So -19 after 3 rounds it's not great but hopefully enough for a few dollars and a big confidence boost! Theme tune for this weeks event brought to you by the Legend Mr. Johnny Cash.

Being from Kentucky, I think this tournament is a slap in the face as it is supposedly being played in Arizona? Should have been played at Valhalla

Dang Moe -9 rd two is impressive. Plenty of chances out there but I found myself above the hole way to often. I swear some of the holes had Saran Wrap covering them.

-5 -4 -4 -6 total -19. Not one of my good weeks, didn't enjoy the course, can't love them all lol Round 1 was solid, Rd 2 started -3 thru 3 and then I had 3 brain farts i.e. 3 bogies on the trot, which lead to rage quit. Round 3 tough pins. I found Rd.4 the easiest settings, Best of luck all webbers:)

The tears have dried, broken clubs have been replaced and I have apologised to the staff and management of last weeks course. It was a emotional time for me missing my first cut on the web but I should not have blocked the first tee on round three demanding to play and to carried away kicking and screaming was a little embarrassing. But I'm ok now, I hope, a practice round of five over does not bode well for my emotional state. A par three start is something that always worries me, not much room for error and the first hole can be so important in setting the tone for a round. I played my tee shot as short of the green as possible with the hopes of the ball rolling close, my ball stopped twelve feet short giving me a birdie chance. I was still surprised to see my putt drop considering my putting lately. I decided not to risk driver on the second to make sure I was in the fairway, a good approach left me close and my second birdie followed. Caution was again the name of the game on the third, although I ended up just six feet from the cup, I had a ackward little putt, I took my time over it and stroked it home for a positive start to the round. My good start continued on four, a eleven foot downhill putt was my birdie chance this time, I played the putt softly just to get it close to the cup, seeing it drop for birdie was a added bonus. My birdie streak came to a end on the fifth, another downhill putt, this time twenty five feet was just to much for me, but I did get it damn close. I missed my first green of the day on six, was not even close, a terrible flop shot put me in trouble and I dropped a shot after missing my putt. Time for a deep breath to try regain my focus. I made the green on seven but was a long way behind the cup, my putt was good, it had the line but not the speed, stopped a couple of feet short for a safe par. I did not play the eight hole well, I was a little to aggressive with both approach and putt, I just about made par. I was trying to hard, trying to get the form of the first few holes back when I should be playing safer and taking chances if the come along. So did I play safe on the short par four ninth, of course not, temptation was to much. I cleared the water but found myself deep in a bunker, a good bunker shot rolled over the edge of the cup stopping four feet past the hole allowing me to finish the front nine on four under. A good front nine, a couple of mistakes but overall, happy with my golf.
I missed the green on ten and dropped another shot. The hole played out indentical to my previous bogey. I should have learned my lesson but I can be slow on the uptake at times. A silly mistake that could prove costly. Another missed green on eleven, this time though I was more careful, nothing silly, chipped close for a safe par. The twelfth is not a hole that suits me, I always have difficulty working out what to play, it's one of those holes that playing be feel does not always suit. My tee shot landed on the fringe and bounced a good distance behind the flag, a good lag putt brought a safe par and I was happy with that, but I do need to pick out a couple more shots soon before time runs out on me. A par five coming next was just what I needed, no risks were taken, fairway twice, green once was the plan and it worked out nicely for a simple birdie. I had another chance on fourteen but my old putting woes came back to haunt me, a seven foot putt, yes it was breaking but I should have done better, a chance that slipped away. Over the next couple of holes I just could not get myself close enough on approach to give myself birdie chances, not unhappy with that but was hoping for one more birdie before the end of the round. With two to play, I had a choice to make, be more aggressive and go for the birdie or just make sure I did not drop any more shots. Since both of the final two holes were long par fours. I went for the safe option. Will it cost me when cut time comes, will have to wait and see. Four under not a disaster by any means, tomorrow will have to try build on that.
One birdie on the back nine was disappointing but my start was also unexpected so it evens itself out. If my birdies had been more spread out, I would have said to myself that I played a good round. The fact that most of them came at the start and I could not push on makes it seems like I played poorly. I did not, I play pretty well, a couple of mistakes yes but outside of that my round was not that bad. I just can't help shake this I messed up feeling. Anyway, tomorrow is another day, good luck all.

I know what you mean hmammoth, I bogied 16 and 18 and also ended -4 thinking it should have been better. On reflection it's not a bad start, I thought the course played really tough and getting close to the pins was hard, and looking at the XBox leaderboard (early days I know) -4 stacks up fairly well. There are some excellent scores at the top but most people seem to be somewhere between -2 and -6. I've just finished round 2, had a real roller coaster ride. Must have missed half a dozen good birdie chances and was getting a bit frustrated, but then got hot over the last 4 holes to salvage a half decent score. Really hoping to make my first cut, think it's going to be close either way. Good luck all

My second week back playing this game, and the rust really showed. I left countless shots out there it was demoralizing. I limped in with a couple of 66s in the first 2 rounds. I can't see that good enough to make the cut. Missed so many putts and had 2 glitch right over the hole (I had never seen that before, but heard about it) I wasn't overly fond of the course, BUT...that's only because of a personal preference. I've never cared for desert themes in any golf games. Being from Canada I guess I've just never experienced it. I think the designer did a great job in the setup, a couple pins I thought were borderline, but you just had to play for par. Probably my only issue (which is a huge pet peeve of mine) was in the 2nd round on a par 5 I was setup with a 3 wood off tee while having ample fairway for the driver. Judging by the designers obvious skills, I'm going to assume this was just an oversight and not an attempt at trickery. The designer/Canadian in me played that entire course thinking how great the layout would be in the Boreal theme.

First round after a weeks rest from competition golf.
Shot a solid -3 with no bogies. No tough par putts either so must have played it pretty safe. Had two holes where the ball teased and didn't drop but happy with that start.
2nd round was very different and after falling short a few weeks ago in the rain i went for a more gung-ho style. It rewarded me with a -11 and joint first on the ps4 leaderboard thus far.
Not sure it will make the cut after seeing some of these round 1 scores!
