Moe! Moe Slorkman, where are you? No watchers reports this week - very strange! I'd better investigate further. Much later.....I ordered choppers to fly over Sand Quentin and they sighted a lone figure asleep in a bunker on the 5th, clutching an empty Irish whiskey bottle. It must be Moe his good form of late has deserted him (see what I did there?) and he's been drowning his sorrows. WAKE UP MOE - WE'RE MISSING YOU AND YOUR DAMN REPORTS!! Grumble Grumble *cough *spit leave me be woman I need my rest .

The cut will be -15. I'm going back to sulking in the corner and having sleepless nights pondering what brought my streak crashing to a end and why can't I put a round together anymore . The positive is if 2 more pass me I'll finish in the position that matches the house number of my childhood home 116. Yep that's my only positive from this week haha

I was surprised to see I made the cut this week. I thought the dropped shots in round one we're going to cost me, but here I am. The one thing about just scraping into the third round, it becomes a no pressure round, to far behind to fight for exemption spot and already know I will be playing round four, let's see how no pressure affects my game. After a par start, I decided to try something different on the second, for the first time this week I took a driver and tried to cut around the trees, it did not work. I hit a tree and dropped in the heavy rough. My second shot could only find a bunker but a great thirty yard bunker shot left a short par putt to avoid dropping a shot. My tee shot on the third was both short and wide, I flopped close for another par escape. Another high quality bunker shot came to my rescue on the fourth after I stupidly went for the green in two. My ball was plugged so it was more a hit and hope shot than anything else, the four foot putt I had for birdie was unexpected. Good luck came my way on five as well, a ninety two percent tee shot had my drive heading towards the bunker, my ball landed in the little island of mulch in the centre of the bunker, this allowed me to play a five wood the get close to the green. This is were my luck ran out, a poor flop and worse putt meant no great escape, bogey. I finally played a good approach shot on the sixth, a six foot putt brought birdie and the first time today I played a hole the way it was meant to be played. Because of the length of the seventh, I took no chances, middle of the fairway, middle of the green then a safe lag putt, I then somehow managed to miss my four foot par putt, to casual with the putt I think, did not read the break, it cost me a shot. I paid a lot more attention to my twelve foot putt on eight, the result a birdie, back to one under. The next hole brought another twelve foot birdie chance, this time I missed by a inch or two to stay one under at the turn.
I came close to starting the back nine with a spectacular two hundred yard eagle, my ball was inches from dropping and rolled seven feet past the hole, of course I missed the short putt, hitting it a little to hard to leave another seven footer coming back, this one I made. Eleven brought another short putt birdie chance and another par. My putting was way off today, I was not just missing but missing by a good distance but better today than a round where there was more at stake. Still a bit frustrating though as my long range approaches have been so good( not including the first few holes), on twelve, I putt my approach to within three feet and I still bloody missed, my par putt was longer than my birdie putt. I made my birdie putt on thirteen, it was twenty two feet, how can I make those putts but not the short ones? One of those days. A couple of straight forward pars followed before I found myself standing over a short four foot putt on sixteen, I did not miss, yes you read that correctly, I sunk a four foot putt, all is right with the world. I can putt again, birdie putt on seventeen, right in the centre of the cup. A eight foot breaking putt on eighteen, line read perfectly, third birdie in a row. I was on fire now, I was not missing anything, I was finished, God dammit.
I did not play to badly, I just could not putt. I have mentioned this before, confidence. Once I missed a couple short putts, I started to doubt myself, my putter confidence dropped and I missed putts. The four footer that dropped on sixteen reminded my I could still make simple putts, confidence rose, putts dropped. Just like real life, amazing what a little self belief can do.
