Not sure what it is but I do so much better in practice rounds.... Playing the tourney I just fall apart, miss so many easy puts on this course.... The course is so well done and has a realistic feel to it....the greens are tough and I struggled in the tourney with them but in practice i had no problems... Great course I just had a bad tournament at +12....Sunday killed me with the winds at 15-18mph

God help us if Wagtunes shoots even par on the first round at Red Rock!! Especially with the demotion strike line being at approximately -78!

Well, I have miraculously climbed out of the abyss. With one round left to post, I am above the strike line. With my 2 under the last round, which supposedly was the worst, I should stay above it. I am genuinely stunned. I think I shot a 66 on round 4. It didn't seem THAT hard but maybe I was on fire with my approach shots for some reason.

Currently 4th with a few still to report. Super happy with my first TGCT tournament results, hoping red rock can treat me close to as nice.
God, I'm in love with this site/game

God, I'm in love with this site/game Yes I've only been here about 6 weeks, it's good isn't it? Looks like I'm just about going to cling on to an exemption and join you in B next week, will be my third attempt at trying to earn that card. I haven't yet managed to play two consecutive weeks in the same tier! To Daniel Noon, if you read this, that was awesome scoring after the first round. -31 is the best score from any CC tier and 63 in round 4 is ridiculous! I played your ghost in round 2 but had to turn it off because it was too depressing! Well played mate.

Well, I don't know whether to be pleased with myself or really pissed.
I get up this morning and take a look at the leader boards. After languishing near the bottom for 2 rounds and barely making it above the strike line in round 3, I now find myself T30.
WTF?
Not only that, but I am only 3 strokes behind the clear strikes line.
And then it all came back to me. That one hole in round 1 where I got so pissed off because of these stupid greens turning good shots into bad shots that I started smacking the ball all over it out of anger and shot 4 over on that one hole.
No matter how not so great a player I might be, I'm not that bad. But I let my anger get to me and it cost me a chance to clear my strike this week. Of course I had no idea that my round 4 would shoot me up 20 spots.
I've learned a lot from this tourney. The most important thing I've learned is that if you keep your cool and just play your game, you're never out of it. I also learned that no course is untamable. And after my practice at Red Rock this week, I also learned that I'm not the horrible player I was when I first got here and that winning anything is impossible.
I may not make it up to PGA or any of the big boy leagues, but I'll be damned if I see the inside of the lower classes ever again. From here on in, it's moving on up.
Next week should be a lot of fun.

Just out of interest wags, how right are your predictions?
This time, was tougher as you can't account for competition pressure and magnolia greens on the fourth round.

Just out of interest wags, how right are your predictions? This time, was tougher as you can't account for competition pressure and magnolia greens on the fourth round. This week, I was so far off it isn't funny. After round 1, with about 60 players reporting, I predicted that 8 under for the whole tourney would be the demotion strike line. The line is currently 1 over par. I can't believe how many players just fell apart in the later rounds, especially round 4. I never saw that coming. Nobody could have. Which is why I'm even more pissed off at myself for that one hole in round 1. That was my only really bad hole in the whole tournament. Take a look at my scorecard. Hole 8, round 1. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Oh, and it was a par 5 so my 8 was only 3 over. Still, a triple bogie on a par 5? That's inexcusable. Taught me a big lesson. Anyway, I think my predictions for Red Rock are going to be a lot more accurate. The course is easier and plays fairly consistent throughout the rounds with round 4 being maybe a little bit harder because of the pin positions. So I'll maybe knock off 25% for the last round. So if you're shooting around 8 under the first 3, expect to shoot around 6 under for round 4. In fact, this is my prediction for the cut line before we even start for class C. Round 1 - 8 under Round 2 - 8 under Round 3 - 8 under Round 4 - 6 under Total - 30 under If you're not around 30 under in Class C, you're probably going to get a strike this week. I'll have a better handle on this after round 1 scores are posted.

I did If you go back in one of the topics where you posted about your score and the demotion strike fear I told you that probably that line would be around even PAR To be completely fair I had a little advantage - I played the 4 CC rounds with my CC-bud on Monday so I knew what was coming for you CC guys and that on SAT and SUN there'll be no way (all due respect) that a lot of people in CC would have gotten away with more than a few strokes under PAR I was accurate at a point that after I saw that 27under on monday afternoon I told my friend "I think you'll need 25 under to get exemption in CC-A"......and guess what? 25 under seems to be the threshiold

Wags Keep those predictions coming, I find them very entertaining I pop in here from the PGA to keep up with your efforts. Page # 2, you wanted to withdraw, you thought you would be dead last. Page # 3, you were close, but still heading for a strike. Page # 4, you had avoided a strike. Page # 6, you had finished well and cleared your strike. Ok that last one was wishful thinking........ but you never know, anything can happen. Keep plugging away, and remember a tourney is over 72 holes, so don't let one bad one affect the rest of them. Best of luck.

Well that went a lot better than expected. Tell me about it, I finished 71,75 and only dropped 9 places - only at Magnolia. See you in B next week! Don't go mad though, I keep falling foul of that 10 shot rule!
