This what people don't seem to get. I fckn putted a 5 footer into a bunker, and laughed it off. I don't recall which hole, but it will happen to others as well as my approach was the only safe spot to hit it. I wanted to smack Mr Rage playing as I was following him and he fckn threw away not only a top 10 but a chance to win. Have we become so accustomed to making birdie on every hole, when we don't we have to get mad, and slam the course, slam the controller and basically ruin our rounds, ruin our day. Rather than ruin your day, ruin your round, ruin your week, look at what went wrong, you may just find you did not drop a shot at all and others are going to experience precisely the exact same thing. You are going to encounter some courses from time to time where making par is the new making par and playing for par is the new course management strategy, what a concept, TGCT forcing you to play golf instead of darts. Grow up people, laugh it off and move on to the next hole. Make lemonade from those lemons. I had this exact same thought as I watched the real PGA this week and the top 5 were all in single digits. Imagine if we had a minor event that difficult? People would loose their minds lol.

Which I generally do most weeks, Boom. Is it wrong to let off some steam on occasion? I disliked the course in practice, I disliked the course when I played. Posted my point and now I'm focused on next week. Apologies you had to read a little bit of moaning lad. A lot of his post was aimed at me and he is right 100%. I sometimes don't think that the rest of the field will also find a certain hole difficult etc and presume they birdie it and it carries on from there. This is finally a turning point for me and i can't let my frustration kill my chances anymore. Me and BoomBoom have been talking and it has been great, he is really a great person to talk to. To take it one step further - we do a lot of work to put on these events and tours. It takes a lot of effort. When I see a 118 on the boards it feels like a lack of respect for the tours. You skew course stats, you skew your stats and it screams of "take my ball and go home" if things aren't going your way. I'd be much more impressed if you shot a 9 and then came back with 2 birdies. Hope the next time you think to go down that road you pull your self up and shoot lights out the rest of the way.

For the record I played the first two rounds for fun and shot 67 69 and probably would have missed the cut. Thought the course was a great fit for the top tours. Good challenge and scores are there to be had as is being seen on the early leaderboards

I played very well for most of the first round with the exception of the 8th hole. Came up just a bit short when the play was to land behind the pin. My ball stopped at the crest of the slope and trickled off the green. From there it took me two tries to chip it back up on top of the green. I missed the 13 footer for bogey and made a double. Still, I made 9 birdies in the round including a huge breaker on 7. Finished the round by hacking up the 18th for a 66.
I didn't play as well off the bat in the 2nd round. Bogey on 1 and then 7 pars. The wind was playing some tricks, but I made a few bad shots too. I finally broke through on 9 and made a few birdies on the back for a 68.
-6 -4
That's probably going to be around the cut... When I resume later this week (if necessary), I've got a gimme for bogey (are there any gimmes on this course?).

I didn't expect to offend anyone like this to be honest.

If it was a one and done it wouldn't have bothered me as much but I've seen it a couple times (not just by you) and it doesn't sit well when I see it. At the end of the day, it's your game and your scores - just not something I enjoy seeing when I know there are many golfers giving their all to be on the top tours. I'm a realism guy at heart too so seeing a PGA player purposefully shooting 11's on holes just isn't something I find amusing - no matter the circumstances prior to the breakdown.

WOW didn't expect this much of a response to be honest. I really don't know what to say. Maybe I should just take a break and get out of everyone's way if I am pissing them off so much.

I'll say the same to you then, you might be getting mad and wrecking your round when you did precisely what most others did as well. If it carries over to the next hole and then the next you are only killing yourself. I don't care what people do on these forums TBH, I'm just trying to help people on the course and help them play with the right mindset. I have seen many people let to much get to them on course and they blow their chances at a good finish. Remember, this video game is 90% mental, 5% math, and 5% ability. Don't let this chit get into your head on the course. For anyone playing the wgc next week, gd luck, I set that puppy up to dmuck with your head. Haha can't help but thinking tgc golf psychologist for a game and there being a thread set up in the locker Room for this . how much do you charge? I do know what you mean though pal, once the fume happens it can go downhill very fast unless you chill so there is a big mental part. I don't think it's 90% I think the elite know some formula the rest of us don't and the maths and ability/skill is defo higher than 5% :-) Ok go on then I'll volunteer myself to be Brendan Buckley's psychologist! YOU WILL NOT MAKE THIS PUTTTTT!! YOU JACKASSSSSS!!

I think it's been blown out of proportion and I have a hell of a lot of respect for you as a player. Everyone makes mistakes pal and it would be a shame to see you take a break over this and seems your getting picked on,it's obvious you are sorry for what you did so everyone should move on,we are all human, we make mistakes Maybe Doyley would want to see the bigger problem that is going on in Web at the moment with a certain Brad Putt, once Wgr 50,ex Euro with 6top 10's out of 8 Euro events, played a few weeks ago, would have finished 2nd to LoveDeep but never entered his scores. Then wins last week didn't take an exemption and is now leading again for a second trophy when he is too good for web. This is the Big Problem that should be adressed Imo

If the former world no.1 and one of the already greats of the game Rory McIlroy can lob his club in the lake due to frustration on a PROFFESIONAL golf tour, albeit getting fined in the process, then it's imo its a non issue when in the VIRTUAL world if someone has a knee jerk reaction to a poor tourney!!He showed frustration!! Not a crime! Move on from this week Daniel, your a top player, remember that. As is often said in most sports in real life, Form is temporary, class is permanent.. We all get frustrated during events on tgct at different points, some deal with it differently to others.
