I was chasing him too to realise after my first round he is a PGA Tour player. I shot -28 for two rounds, (-14 in both rounds). However, I'm a CC-B player. Also didn't do as well on the last two rounds. Finished overall -42 I believe. That ghost was a player hard to keep up with! -42 is an awesome score. You will be in a next week for sure. I almost forgot how to play in the wind on round 4. It picks up a bit.

Early on the 3rd round, maybe the 3rd hold I 4 putted or something from 10ft odd, kept going way past. As the pin was on a slope.

A birdie start for the first time this event. Being under par lasted until the next hole though when I made a balls of the second, from tee shot until the ball finally dropped, I played badly, actually just dropping the one shot was a good result as I deserved to drop more with that sort of play. The third was not much better, heavy rough to heavy rough, because it was a par five, I got away with par, this might be a long round. Then came a lucky bounce which changed the complexion of my round.
There was a long way to go yet and I got the feeling anything could happen. A shot like that can bring a little bit of confidence and when faced with a tricky birdie putt on the next hole, I said to myself not to ruin the chance that eagle brought me, it crept in, not until the last possible moment did it drop. Now I just needed to survive the sixth, a hole that nearly always causes me trouble and I blew a three foot birdie chance. A confidence thing again, the hole scared me and I left it win and no, you can't see a video of that. A poor chip nearly had me making a mess of seven, a good putt though meant I was four under, it was definitely one of those rounds that was going to be a mixture of good and bad shots, hopefully more good than bad, like my chip in for eagle on the eight, no lucky bounce this time, just a well played shot. A tap in birdie had me finishing the front nine on a surprising seven under.
The back nine started just the way I wanted it to, a pitch to five feet of the cup and a easy birdie putt, followed by a tee shot to within four feet of the cup and another easy putt. I came close to ending my scoring streak on twelve, again a good approach left me with a simple enough putt. I hit it to hard, the ball hopped when it hit the cup, my heart stopped as it rose into the air but thankfully it dropped straight down for birdie. I did not for for the green on thirteen, I so much wanted to and had to fight myself not to but I had to play smart now. Then instead of adding a little bit of loft to my pitch, I took it away and my ball traveled eight feet past the hole, which was about eight feet more than I planned, my nerves were shattered at this stage, but again I got away with the mistake when I made the birdie putt. I decided not to play safe on fourteen and went through the little gap in the trees, the ball did roll of the green but put me in a great birdie position which I gladly took. I really was getting nervous now and when I made birdie on fifteen that got worse. My palms were sweating, my heart thumping and instead of focusing on the now, I was thinking what might be and when I found myself behind a tree on sixteen, I knew the streak was over, I did find the centre of the green, thirty feet from the hole. I should have lagged the putt, but decided what the hell and went for birdie, it came so close to being spectacular but because I hit it hard, it rolled a bit past the hole, I missed the par putt. Do I regret going for it, not for a second, those last nine holes were a blast, and I wanted the fun to continue even if it meant a dropped shot. I got the shot back on the next hole, now time to just finish up. And I finished up in style when my approach stopped two feet from the hole.
What a round, I think only my second sub sixty round on tour and that included two bogeys. I got lucky at times but also played some great shots, just two pars the entire round. I think the eagle on four was the catalyst, if it had not gone in, it might have gone well past the hole but like I said earlier, good and lucky shots breeds confidence and I do find a eagle can usually be followed by a birdie or two. I did not expect eleven of them and another eagle but I'll take it. A tougher day in store for tomorrow, who knows what it will bring but for now, it's all about round three.

Amazing how a hole out can change your entire confidence level huh? I made the mistake of practicing the gold course all week and didnt practice for rounds 3/4. It may end up costing me the tourney. My advice, practice the red course in high winds before going off for your 4th round for sure.

Sounds like a nice round 3 Dan. Possible top 5 looming? Better watch out those web boys will be on high alert. Edit : Third round leaderboard just updated and it's very tight at the top!

The fourth and final round, also known as the choke round. Again I find myself in a good position like the previous three weeks, but the wind is up, the course is playing tough and it's so tight for those top five spots that a single mistake will be costly. A high pressure round, recently I could not handle the pressure, is today the day I finally stand up? Or will mistakes come to the fore yet again, let's find out.
Back to my usual par start on the first, the wind was going to be a major factor today. The headwind on the second meant the hole played very long. I did find the green but the putt I was left with had horrendous break, to make matters worse, it was downhill. If I did not make birdie, the ball was going to travel and par would be a struggle. I missed and as expected the ball rolled. I was relieved when I managed to make par, for awhile it looked like a dropped shot was going to be the outcome. The third is a must birdie hole,I didn't birdie it, rough from the tee, to rough to bushes, birdie was not really a option then, my first choke of the day. I was lucky enough to have a straight birdie putt on the fourth, getting that first yellow number was important, chances like that have to be taken. A great approach on the fifth brought birdie number two, I needed that as the hole that I struggled during with all week was next. For a second I thought I was going to ace it, the ball looked like it was heading in, to just roll over the edge. Still, I am more than happy to take a birdie there, I would have been happy with par. I followed that with a poor tee shot into the heavy rough, like the third, it's a must birdie hole, like the third I failed to do that. I found myself plugged in a bunker on eight, my bunker shot did not find the green. Chipping is one of the stronger parts of my game and it did not leave me down here. To be honest, I did not expect it to drop, I was well off the green in heavy rough, but in it went. I finished the front nine with a tap in birdie to go five under. A good score for the front nine. I did get lucky at times but luck is needed as well as skill to push for a top five.
I was hoping to start the back nine with a birdie like I did the previous rounds, sadly it was not to be, there was a half chance but I could not take it. I got the first birdie of the back nine on the next hole when I put my tee shot to within four feet. The pressure was mounting now, if I could pick up another couple of shots and avoid mistakes, I might find myself in the running for that elusive top five. The golfing gods gifted me another straight putt on twelve, a gift I nearly left unopened when I hit the putt to softly, it just about reached the cup. The wind was in the perfect direction for the thirteenth, I made it harder for myself than I would have liked but birdie was made, finally picking up a shot on a must birdie hole. For the second hole in a row, a poor flop shot gave me a longer putt than should have been, again making life hard for myself but again the putt dropped. Why do I do this to myself, it's bad for the heart. Thankfully it was not the case on fifteen, when a good ninety yard pitch gave me a tap in birdie, ten under. The wind helped on sixteen, the strong tailwind meant the tree I got caught behind yesterday did not come into play. My approach could have been better but I found the green with a good birdie chance which I took. Two to play. The wind did not help on seventeen, it left the tee shot in between clubs. I tried to be clever with a three wood with a lot of deloft, it did not work. I left myself with a longish downhill putt, twenty feet or so. I can't fully remember the distance, all I remember is it creeping in the left side of the cup. Easily the best putt I made over the four rounds, I still can't believe it dropped. A chance of a second sub sixty round in a row, I missed the green on the last, it was a poor shot, I still had a birdie chance with a make able chip in, it stopped just short. I smiled, took par and walked of the course a happy man.
What a round, a slow start but once I got going, everything went so well, not dropping any shots was a huge bonus and for once I kept my nerve. 49 under by far my best four round total. Now just have to wait and see where that leaves me on the leaderboard, I really think it will be a top five. Good luck all.

I wanna make you sweat it out!!!!! Im sitting at -41 after round 3. With that being said, Im thinking back to a 4 foot putt on 17 that magically rolled through/over the hole. I started to record it and complain, I wish I would of now as its going to be my downfall. Unreal shooting Dan. I knew my last round not breaking -10 was going to cost me. Im going to be real upset if that one putt on 17 ends up costing me the tourney through a tie breaker or even worse, losing it outright!!!!!!

Top 5 for sure, possibly the winning score but we'll have to wait and see what those XB-1'ers and PC'ers produce. I believe it was the best score on the PS4 leaderboard. Granted there were half a dozen or so better scores but they seemed to be all from the Pro Tours, reliving past glories no doubt. We'll be watching next week Dan and no doubt you will give a good account of yourself as always. Good luck!

If it does come to a tie, I only parred the last. I had a feeling when that stopped just short that it would cost me a tie breaker. Still no complaints from me, I played as better than I thought I would. We just have to wait what happens as other scores come in. Your second round score deserves to take it though.

Lets hope that you make it up to the web for your exemption chance. Mind you, just because most of the former web lads are now Euro doesn't mean that the ones remaining won't be ready to gun you down once you do get up here.
