After suggesting bigcat courses on the challenge circuit more than once, it nice to see one here. Murphy's Law will now come into effect and I guess I will make a balls out of it. For everyone else though, just to make me cry, post your amazing scores and reports here, good luck all.

They start to feel my breath on their heads as I start to climb the tours up

Heres my scores, nothing to challenge anyone lol, i hit too many sub 100% shots at the wrong moments to score good. -7,-5,-5,-1. The first 2 rounds you can score good if you learn where to land them, in 3 its much longer and pins are in tricky spots. in 4, wind gets up at times and can be a pain in the butt lol. the par 3 6th in my mind is the hardest hole on the course, in rounds 1 and 2 its hard to get close and if you hit the bit of fairway before the green, you will have a bad bounce. land to the left and have a tricky putt looking straight down the slope and also slides to the right. On a happy note, this is the best 4 rounds ive played since powder finger lol. Goodluck guys

Easily my best tournament ever...... pity about round 3... so hard to stay consistent for 72 holes. Rd 1: -12 Rd 2: -12 Rd 3: - 6 Rd 4: -10 Total: 40 under Will it be enough for a Web exemption? Can't wait to see the scores start to roll in on Monday.

There is something going on, I can feel it in my bones. I get the feeling I am being set up for a major fall this week. The last time I listened to a webber, he introduced me to Tom Brady. That very day, I shot a 81 or something with golf balls that were a little soft and got demoted to cc-b. Coincidence, I don't think so. I will be on guard this week. You may have a challenge circuit background mrooola, but the web.com corrupts, I have seen it first hand. I shall be watching.

I have had a few good weeks lately. There is a voice in my head telling me it's time to push on, that I can finally get my first win, that I can push on to the web and beyond. Then there is another voice that laughs at that, a voice that reminds me that I have been in a position to win during the last three weeks, that I choked in the final round each time, that I don't have the balls to win and I should just give up hope and live the life of a journeyman golfer. Then there's another voice that tells me to kill, to kill them all and burn everything to the ground. I think I should ignore that voice though, it only gets me in trouble. Can you believe that I am still searched for matches every time I go to the library, it was just the one time! Anyway, which voice will prevail this week, time for round one.
A par to start, after playing a lot of firm greens lately, I misjudged the roll out of my iron shot to the green, leaving it well short. I have to remember that I can play closer to the hole on this course. Amazing how I forgot to remember that on the very next hole, luckily, my birdie putt was perfectly straight, one under. I had a twenty eight foot eagle putt on the third, I putted aggressively, no lag putt here, it was either going in or going well past, it went well past. I made the putt coming back though for birdie. The fourth brought my best approach of the round so far, the four foot putt was not easy, breaking heavily, again I went aggressive to take out the break, it's a lot easier being aggressive from a short distance, three under. Another birdie followed before the streak came to a end on six, a nightmare bounce sent my ball flying to the back of the green, fifty feet away, a decent putt meant par. I got to be careful landing the ball on the fringe, not as soft as the greens. No such issues the next hole, tap in birdie to go five under. The eight is a great chance for eagle, well it would have been if I had not put my second shot in the heavy rough, my third shot rolled off the green but was saved by a short chip in, not making birdie there would have had voice number two cackling all the to the next tee box. It was cackling anyway on the ninth after my ball rolled of the green twice on the ninth, I got caught out by the slope to the left of the green, a very strong front nine spoilt with that bogey.
I needed to start positively to get the laughter out of my head, to get back on track and keep the scorecard ticking over and I did that with a tap in birdie. A second tap in birdie in a row sent voice number two scurrying away to the dark depths of my mind and brought the encouraging tones on voice number one to the fore. I missed a great birdie chance on twelve, missed by a mile and left myself a tricky par putt, voice number two was kept at bay though with a good par putt. I recovered from the disappointment of missing that in the best possible way, I went on a three hole birdie streak, which itself ended in the worst possible way with a dropped shot on sixteen, two shockingly bad putts, not long putts either, just completely misjudged. I finished out the round with a couple more birdies and eleven under par.
I have mixed feelings about that round, I played some great golf at times, the stupid basic mistakes cost me shots. It could easily have been a sub sixty round. It should have been. Still could have been worse, voice three did not burn down any of the houses along the golf course. Yet!!

My feeling is -45 to -48 will win it, but your -40 could well scrape in top 5. Good luck anyway - only a week to wait!

Yet!! lol hmammoth, i did warn you about the 6th and the bounce, only landing on the green gives a good bounce. I did a practice before i started and shot -11 with at least 2 bogies and a few lip out bird putts. Went into the round and shot -7 with i think a 5 on 6, plenty of 80-90% shots, otherwise i think i would have shot better than -30 rather than the score i got but have been practicing in the pga event and started +4 from 7 holes and finished even and i also had a couple more bogies. round 2 was better and shot -2 with at least 4 or 5 bogies. The pga west course is well worth playing if you get the chance. I felt it was more fun to play than our one lol.

I had a shock match play victory last night at Magnolia. Two down after nine, I scored five under on the back nine to snatch a win on the last, my best ever score at Magnolia, beating a web.com player on top of that. So I was ready for round two, ready to birdie every hole, ready to charge up the leaderboard. On the first, I even remembered the lack of roll out and to hit it a bit harder. I over hit it, just a par. Then I remembered something else. After my match play win, I proceeded to hit trees, lose golf balls in water, miss three foot putts, damn my selective memory. Change of plan, forget birdies on every hole, just a decent score will do. My first birdie came on the second, that settled me down a little which I followed with two more. I was putting my approaches close, if I continued with that, it could be a good round. Of course I did the opposite on the next hole and the birdie streak came to a halt. I spent to long deciding which shot to play, in the end, it was the wrong one. I dropped a shot on the sixth, poor putting at fault, I overestimated the break and came close to dropping two. I nearly made the perfect recovery from that, my second shot on the seventh rolled back over the lip of the cup, a eagle there would have brought my round to life. I then lipped out eagle on the next hole as well, oh what could have been. I must have used up all my luck last night. Ok this has got to be a joke, someone is messing with my fragile little mind, inches from eagle on the ninth. Still three birdies better than three pars right. Five under for the front nine.
Finally, I did not come close to eagle on ten, just a normal everyday birdie. I also made birdie on eleven before the streak ended on twelve. It was a nice birdie run, the conditions perfect for going for the hole. There's going to be some really low scores this round. I went for the green in one on thirteen, hoping a good bounce might give me chance of getting this eagle jinx off my back, I did not expect the ball to fly off the back of the green, sometimes I don't know my own strength, birdie. The birdies continued to drop and I reached double figures on fifteen, and yet I could not help think it should have been better. I finished the last four holes with three more birdies and twelve under, one shot better than yesterday, one mistake less than yesterday.
I played well, even though those near eagles feel like mistakes, they were not, they were great shots so nearly perfect. That dropped shot, like the two yesterday will cost me big time. With scoring conditions being so good, a mistake is amplified twofold. Still, it's enjoyable out there, a good confidence booster course. Have fun all.
