I had a shock match play victory last night at Magnolia. Two down after nine, I scored five under on the back nine to snatch a win on the last, my best ever score at Magnolia, beating a web.com player on top of that. So I was ready for round two, ready to birdie every hole, ready to charge up the leaderboard. On the first, I even remembered the lack of roll out and to hit it a bit harder. I over hit it, just a par. Then I remembered something else. After my match play win, I proceeded to hit trees, lose golf balls in water, miss three foot putts, damn my selective memory. Change of plan, forget birdies on every hole, just a decent score will do. My first birdie came on the second, that settled me down a little which I followed with two more. I was putting my approaches close, if I continued with that, it could be a good round. Of course I did the opposite on the next hole and the birdie streak came to a halt. I spent to long deciding which shot to play, in the end, it was the wrong one. I dropped a shot on the sixth, poor putting at fault, I overestimated the break and came close to dropping two. I nearly made the perfect recovery from that, my second shot on the seventh rolled back over the lip of the cup, a eagle there would have brought my round to life. I then lipped out eagle on the next hole as well, oh what could have been. I must have used up all my luck last night. Ok this has got to be a joke, someone is messing with my fragile little mind, inches from eagle on the ninth. Still three birdies better than three pars right. Five under for the front nine. Finally, I did not come close to eagle on ten, just a normal everyday birdie. I also made birdie on eleven before the streak ended on twelve. It was a nice birdie run, the conditions perfect for going for the hole. There's going to be some really low scores this round. I went for the green in one on thirteen, hoping a good bounce might give me chance of getting this eagle jinx off my back, I did not expect the ball to fly off the back of the green, sometimes I don't know my own strength, birdie. The birdies continued to drop and I reached double figures on fifteen, and yet I could not help think it should have been better. I finished the last four holes with three more birdies and twelve under, one shot better than yesterday, one mistake less than yesterday. I played well, even though those near eagles feel like mistakes, they were not, they were great shots so nearly perfect. That dropped shot, like the two yesterday will cost me big time. With scoring conditions being so good, a mistake is amplified twofold. Still, it's enjoyable out there, a good confidence booster course. Have fun all. that 6th is a beast of a par 3 and a par feels like a bird there. just wait till you play the weekend course, its longer on some holes and the easy flat putt you get on 10 is gone, now its on the left on a side slope and no neck of fairway as a back if short on approach, much trickier pins and shows how easy the thurs fri pin was.

Yea I noticed the second two days were tougher. I am looking forward to the challenge, it will be give me more to write about in my round report if nothing else. I always enjoy it when it gets tougher, makes every birdie more rewarding.

Never say never, this is not a easy week to earn a card, mainly because of the first two rounds where scoring is easy. If you dont make it this week, it does not mean you will not. I was demoted from cc-a, missed out on exemption once before finally regaining my card two weeks ago. Sure it might take time, but if you got here once,it means you are capable of playing here and Im sure its just a matter of time before you earn you a card.

R1: -9 R2: -6 R3: -9 R4: -10
Total: -34
First event as an official CC-A member. Not sure where that will leave me especially as I left a good few out there.
As usual my best round was the hardest round what with all the wind in round 4. Was joint 2nd on Xbox 1 for that round

Watch for the wind in round 4. Makes the course a completely different course with strong winds.

64-62-64-64 At least I was consistent . Playing on a sponsor exemption from the CC-B tour this week. It's not looking good for me, but I assure you all I'll be back! I'm new to the community this year and thought I would be a little more vocal than I have been. Maybe see you guys again in a few weeks .

I was chasing him too to realise after my first round he is a PGA Tour player. I shot -28 for two rounds, (-14 in both rounds). However, I'm a CC-B player. Also didn't do as well on the last two rounds. Finished overall -42 I believe.
That ghost was a player hard to keep up with!
