Great post Yaters. I agree with everything you said.
Judging from the top end of the scores in Web.com after 3 rounds, it seems that the system is working pretty well. First through eleventh span just 6 strokes, which makes it feel pretty competitive going into the fourth round. This span was more like 10 strokes in the first two weeks.
Everyone has a great week here and there, so scoring in the top 5 just once and then barely making the cut line in PGA / Euro shouldn't be an automatic forced promotion. On the other hand, someone that is consistently top 5 is a slightly different story. I have no doubt that Jared will take his promotion to PGA after making cut by a good margin and currently sitting in 15th after 3 rounds. But if Brett Mathew feels that he's not ready for the PGA after scoring over par (not sure where he ends up, but he's +1, 58th after 3 rounds), then I don't think he should be made to feel bad for deciding to hold out in web.com a little bit longer.

I don't know if they can program this way, but If they want to give a card to those who make the cut, what about letting people keep both cards so they can choose where to play each week, similar to the real tour.
Obviously if somebody wins 3 web tours, or wins a pga tour, they'd lose the web tour card.
As I said, I'm not opposed to a forced exemption, but I don't think getting a pga card should be so easy... It sure wasn't going from cc to web.

3rd round scores are up! Any predictions on what the top 5 cut-off will be? Hoping to qualify for an exemption so I can not use it next week and start this debate up again! Ha ha nice one man, it certainly got a lot more people posting in here anyway, we should get pool going to see who is going to be the lucky person to get the first 2 top 5's

I want to apologies to any of my fellow Web players if I offended you. I am a competitor and simply don't understand those who choose to stay put instead of advancing. I don't think their is anything wrong with questioning the status quo of current rules as these tours will and have been constantly evolving for the better. Just like the wind issues from weeks ago, when people start complaining there is a group of usuals who say shut up and this is how it is. I will try and be more respectful but I will not shut up or stop trying to improve this game. We all get an opinion on what those improvements are vs the status quo. Stop fearing change or viewing it as a negative...PLEASE
Definitely hope you don't shut up! I love that we've got so many passionate people hereon web, even if we don't disagree (and TGCT right now). I'd much rather have a 20 page thread with people arguing then have absolutely no talk at all.
Notice that the weekly thread on the EURO tour only has 4 pages, another reason to not take the exemption and stay in web! (just kidding! I'd love to get an exemption this week so I don't have to try to go -50 next week at Harvest Hills)

There will probably be a few more that get their first two top 5's by the end of week 3. To answer Lowenberger's question, my prediction is -26. Ha ha yeah but those guys were pre exemptiongate and I remember that they couldn't get registered to take their exemptions. I think you have made a good choice on your prediction anyway as lowenberger is motivated judging by his cheeky comment earlier Edit: thought you were predicting lowenberger to be first to get the consecutive top 5's

I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the -24 or -25 range.. which is only a few under for what is currently top 5.

I shot a dismal +1 73 in round 3 (I don't believe I've ever played this course in anything worse than -3 in some 15 odd plays). A +12 stroke score difference compared to my round 2 has to be in some type of record book for me. I was bloody awful, should not have even started the round because I wasn't feeling it (after really being in a groove in round 2), and 4 bogeys on the back 9 is killer after starting with a decent -2.
Unfortunately I needed to play my final round early because of travel. Actually played fairly well in the final round despite a rough start in some brutal winds (had never played this pin setup or any setup in 14 winds) I scored a -6 66. Much better after round 3 choke job. Hopefully with a -21 I can be somewhere near top 10. I need some players to struggle in the final round and help me out. Hopefully those winds due some people in.

Nice recovery in the fourth round. Had you scored an average round of 67 in round 3, you would be in the top 5. Better lucky next week!

That is a good score on the final round as it was quite tough with the wind, I shot 67 and was quite happy with it as I had a few very good par saves after missed fairways. I was struggling to hit it very far out of the rough, I saw Kenny hit a great shot from the rough on that hole you try to cut the corner on, it came in low and fed around the slope on the left toward the pin, he missed the putt though but overall played well and his -8 was impressive. Anything near that or better is excellent shooting.

You gotta laugh I don't know about anyone else but this game gets me emotional sometime - just like real golf!! If I'm not mistaken weren't you top at the half way stage? Yeah WAS! That's before I couldn't keep it going for the last two rounds....

There are a couple of guys at -11 after 2 that could threaten -26 also but its looking pretty safe judging by some of the scores over the final 2 rounds, nice going lowenberger looks like you achieved what you went for

Well i gave it my best shot at chasing down lowenberger for the top 5.(why do losers always whine about giving it their best ?) Knew i had no chance as i had only had 7 birdies in each of the 1st 3 rounds. What do you know, 7 birdies in the final round for a 66. Very pleased with final score considering last 2 rounds played a lot tougher.
