Congrats to all the new European Tour members! I thought it would be cool to have a place for "rookies" to share our experiences, pitfalls, course tips, etc. as we progress through the season. Or feel free to give your favorite rival a jab or two. Good luck all!!!

I'm scared to see what the first cut will be on the first tournament next week. I have a hard time believing I'll be able to get lower than about -5 on this course (especially if it's windy), and that won't be nearly good enough.

Having spent the better part of a day trying to book accommodations in Algarve, it seems the tour didn't anticipate th large influx of rookies and rooms are in short supply. Clearly a tactic to cause as much discomfort for us "noobs" to the tour in order to put us in our place. I've located a nice bed and breakfast with spacious rooms and fresh air...actually it's a stable, but the hay is quite soft...and those with early morning tee times are guaranteed to rise and there are live alarm clocks that crow just before sunrise. Did I mention fresh air? Anyhow, just returned from a practice round and would love to hear tips from fellow rookies on the course. Oh, and forget about cell service at this elevation!

I hate the course, I've just played three rounds of it on the realistic golf tour with no aids on and it was a brutal wind. Best I scored was a 75 I don't hold much hope of me bettering that by much on the euro tour

I enquired as to whether they would consider installing a ski lift however this was met with rejection, looks like we have 4 very long walks next week :-(

Welcome Rookies Hope you have a good time on the Euro tour... Don't be nervous about making cuts... you all have the ability to do so, otherwise you would not have qualified... Great to see the new talent Game on!

I've saw you play a fair bit on the recent Oswinner tour, I'd say you'll be fine making the cut :-)

What's the rule on Euro tour members being able to play cross over events on the PGA tour during the season, is it only the majors you can register for.

What's the rule on Euro tour members being able to play cross over events on the PGA tour during the season, is it only the majors you can register for. Last year it was unlimited either way. There was some talk about limiting it for season two, but I don't think any official word came down that anything has changed. Of course, I may have missed something.

Good look everyone who made it. I am sure you will all be fine. I have played many of your ghost and some of you are more than capable. Go into the comps with confidence not fear and you will do better for sure.

Excuse my noobness, but what are the reasons someone would want to play in a crossover event? Are there advantages and disadvantages in playing?

Some reasons (for me) to crossover last season:
- I don't like the course on my home tour - Big pot/big points for WGR on the other tour - Majors of course!
