Well, that was an awful first two rounds. If anyone wants to relive my misery, you can do so here:

Just wrapped up rounds 1/2. Pretty happy sitting at -22.
Round 1 (-12) -- up and down round. Missed a 4 footer but also hit a couple 30+ footers. What could have been!
Round 2 (-10) -- played arguably better than round 1 but hit a few less putts. Felt it should have been lower with the wind.
Played first two holes of round 3 with birdie -birdie... Will get back to those soon!
As always Good luck to all.
Nate

Went ahead and finished out my last two rounds. Went -9 and -11 to wrap up at -42. Pleased with getting back on track after a finish well back from the leaders last week.

Hey everyone -- Just ran another Strokes Gained Putting analysis for the middle of this tournament to see how much putting affects placement and strokes in a tournament with a much larger field (150 making cut!). Let's get to the pretty chart and I'll break it down below... The front runners (minus Kevin Hall because his second scorecard isn't showing up) dominated all categories: Scoring, GIR, Putts/Green and Longest Putt. 70% of strokes gained over middle of pack were via putting, while only 51% of strokes gained over the cut line were from putting. The middle of the pack gained only about 40% of their strokes over the cut line from putting. Unlike other tournaments, we see a marked separation in GIR between the flights. The Front Runners averaged 3.4 more GIR in two rounds than the middle of the pack, and 6.0 (!!) more than the cut line. Clearly, GIR (and, connected, FIR) came into play for scores. I'll run another analysis on Saturday at the conclusion of the tournament...will bring in some FIR data too so that we can color this data a bit more. With a larger field we're seeing more variables than just Putting coming into play, though putting is remaining the top differentiator.

Will be interested to see if the numbers s in a different direction for the final 2 rounds.

After my stupid play at #3 in the third round, discussed earlier, I never recovered in the 3rd or 4th round as frustrations grew and putts, many putts, were missed. Finished -24. Made more double bogeys in this tourney than I have for a long time. In this game, as in real life golf, look forward and not back. Didn't do that this week.
Good luck to all, especially Andy, as I hope he brings it home.
