Looking for a little help...anyone know what I am doing wrong? My card will show something like: 94% FIR 90% GIR Very good ball striking all around... Yet -7, -6. Putts were something like 31 or so (per round) Anyone have any idea of my weakness it would help greatly? Thanks I've been through that too (i tend to go in and out of that a lot)... sounds like the approach shots are on the green but too far/wrong spot to make birdies. As a for-instance, I went -5, -11 in rounds 1 & 2... difference was all about my approach shot and hitting the 5-9 ft putt instead of the 15-25 ft putt.

Not going to give a spoiler yet, except to say it played a little tougher than I expected. I could not resist the first 2 rounds of the euro today, did really well first round, mediocre in the 2nd, what a fantastic treat that place is. If anyone is looking to for a huge challenge in between rounds, go there, it's fun. Just played euro first 2 rounds. Really confused what conditions it was. Firm and fast 1st round it felt and hit evens. Second round I thought it was soft, but definitely wasn't. Was +8 thru 11, changed tact to firm again to finish up at +5. Really confusing. Wish the courses had someway to view conditions. Also, something very weird is going on with my swing. Slicing it 90% of the time. Started the other day during my last 2 rounds of turnberry. Haven't played it since until Balwearie and now grangethorpe and I'm still doing it. Very weird. sliced it off tee first shot. Bizarre. Are you on XB1? I have one controller that behaves that way and the other has no issues. I've updated both, but the one remains screwed up.

I did not shoot lights out, left a lot of shots on the course, I figured when playing the first 9 I was going to do much better, but the game settled in to it's usual and I just cruised in to a finish.
-11, -7, -8, -13 for a grand total of -39
I'll take it, because they wont let me play it again.
Good luck folks.

Disappointing after last week. -6,-9,-10, and -2. Rage played the 4th and was tired. Gotta say though there was a stretch in round 3 where I was in the zone. Need to learn how to record some of my shots.

Finally, a good start to a tournament for me! Made some putts I needed to make. -12. Long way to go.
Great start Andy! I see you birdied all 9 holes on the front. Keep it up!

Haven't started my actual rounds yet, but I agree with having to destroy the front 9 (particularly first 7 holes) to stay competitive, and then get what you can get on the back 9.
I've had a couple practice rounds where I've been -7 through 7, and ended up -6 or -7 for the round.
This course fits my eye and my playing style far better than the previous one, so I'm hoping to get into the -30s this week.

Colin, I like this course as well. The main thing, for me at least, is to look at the pin placements on my approach putts, especially beyond the hole. If it runs away, you better be cautious as 3 putts await! I putt aggressively and have been known to run some past the point of no return.

Looks like a -40 gets you into likely top 10 at this tournament. Winds seem reasonable. I was gone all weekend doing real golf (broke par for my first time ever!) so I gotta get back into the swing of things before playing my rounds. Good luck all.

Yes, I tweaked my putting strategy a few weeks back (which is what got me to succeed on CCA and make it to this tour), and I get myself in trouble on some of those downhill putts where I end up 15+ feet away for par...

Nate, Congrats on breaking par on the real course! Quite an accomplishment. Even par is the best I have ever done and I've been at it a lot longer than you. Hope that is the first of many.

It will come Clay. After you break 90, the strokes will become harder to shave off as you get closer to 80. Practice your short game! That is where you will shave strokes. Good luck.
