I've posted this before, but will do so again here. I'm pretty sure people that have played many tournament courses in real life have not experienced conditions anything like what this course offers. I'd venture to guess that nobody here has played a course that was set up for the U.S. Open. That was my original intent for Harbour Pointe. The biggest problem is the limitation of the game as far as firmness settings. A setting below what this was put at would've been softer than I wanted and wouldn't have been a good representation of a major championship. I played many test rounds before publishing and tracked which clubs I hit into greens along with wind speed and direction to determine if I could hold the greens at an acceptable rate and found that I could. I know it won't please everyone, but we will all be playing the same course and I believe in the same winds now. I'm sure the best players will still rise to the top and I'll be lucky to make the cut. I do appreciate that for the most part people have been reasonable with their criticisms and voiced their complaints "diplomatically".

I played my rounds this weekend and it wasn't real windy. I just haven't input my scores yet because I wrote them down and they are at home. The course is really difficult. You will have to be a very good lag putter to make pars. I 4 putted #18 one round. I don't love the holes being on the top of ridges with only a small area where the ball won't roll off on either side, but I did enjoy the challenge. Probably a bit unfair but I'm just having fun playing on the Tour and appreciative that people are making courses for us to play. Thank you to the course designer. It's just a video game. It's not like I can tell my co-workers about my video game golf tour anyway, or my wife for that matter. lol

I think the more "it's too hard" complaints a course gets - the better the course is for use on the TGC PGA tour

I for one am glad we have quality designers like Phil Harris (smoknpirate) dedicated to making courses for this game. Without them and TGC Tours this game would be as boring as sh%$ playing auto generated ones.

Like I said before, Carolina Oaks is probably one of my top 5 favorite courses on this game.

Welp went 69, 76, 67, 71 for a total of +3.
I doubt +5 will make the cut, but round 2 was just a complete circus out there lol. I played decently enough the other 3 rounds but I don't know what happened in that 2nd round, nothing would stay on the greens, had a number of tee shots land mid fairway and still end up in rough. Throw in a few 91%'rs and I was done for.

My -5 in my second training round is still by far my best result. Have not played a single round with less than double digit winds. So I think that these strong winds are standard for this course.

I'm no expert (at the game or at designing courses), but with this course I feel the balance is almost there, there are approx 5/6 holes that are genuine birdie opportunities. The rest you're playing to make pars, with good putting, chipping or pitching. The only hole I don't like is the #13 (I think) with the tree in front of the green, that hole would be acceptable, if it was made longer and into a par 5. Other than that I'll try and leave myself uphill chips and putts for each hole. I'll be delighted if I can be level par for the tourney.

Beside Hole 4 (which is an eagle hole) I can not think of a real birdie hole.

Well 4th round managed a -2, should have been a couple lower. Course is definitely much "easier" , for lack of a better word, with low wind of 1-4mph. My first 3 were in 8-13mph. One absurdly frustrating quirk. On #16 ? I believe, I found literally the exact same spot 3/4 rounds. 44 feet behind hole, double breaker, downhill to bottom tier. All 3 times birdie putt hung on the lip. How do you find the same exact spot on a green from 200 yds out 3 rounds in a row? No there's no way anyone is that good or precise. Its a collection area located in the middle of the green just on the top tier. Stuff like that made the course kinda comical. Interesting week. There is one guy who went very low on PC. Interested to see if that will get him the win.

After a tough first three holes I would say that 4 and 5 give you an opportunity to get some strokes back or get under par. After that, #8 if you play the slope back-left of the green. It'll come back to the pin. Then #11 and #15 if you don't get overly aggressive. The par 3 13th is a decent chance if you play short-left on the green and let it feed back to the hole. A chip in from the back of 13 is highly possible too.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I HATE THIS GOLF COURSE. (67, 70, 79, 79 = +15) I watched your stream the other night and thought it was entertaining. I think if you played it patiently as opposed to blitzing through it you would've scored much better. The first two rounds are proof of that.
