So the cut is looking like being -5, theres about 40 players yet to post a number, do we think most of them have played and quit without finishing? Cuz I'd be surprised if they just didn't bother, seems abit harsh on those that wanted to qualify but didn't make it.

Whatever the reason, really disappoiting given how many players tried so hard to qualify and just came up short.

We didn't have time this event to run the Accept/Decline page so I know a few are on vacation. Others might not be as active anymore. Won't explain all the no-shows, but will account for a few.

I'll have beaten off (not literally) the entire TGCT fieldÂ
touche There is a very funny scene from the tv show Silicon Valley that addresses the viability of this literal scenario. I will not post the link. However if you search "Silicon Valley funniest scene" on you tube it's the third result down. WARNING: NSFW

I will be annoyed if I miss out at -5. Had the bunker incident on 18 that cost me atleast 1 shot as I took 2 to get over the retainer. Played the last 2 rounds earlier shooting -8 and -4 to finish -17 total. Happy with how I played on the last 2 days. Played the last hole in +1 for the week. Ha. 3 pars and the bogey. Was a birdie hole every time I practiced course. I feel with you. I lost the fight against the cut on the 36th hole. My third shot hit the top of the tree and bounced directly in front of the retainer. Not an inch space. As I could make a swing and my character was half "inside" the retainer" I thought "maybe I can swing". I could not and lost two strokes there. -4 in the clubhouse. Goodbye cut. I have never seen a retainer between bunker and green! Who comes up with such an idea? This is only the top of many annoying parts of this golf course. Round 2 was just no fun at all as it is in many ways just luck that makes a shot a good one or a bad one. The pin positions in Round 2 are pathetic. On how many holes do you have to keep your fingers crossed if the tee shot or a shot into the green hits the top branches of a tree? Numerous times. Normally I would say: Your fault: Why don't you just play it safe? But with 490 yards Par 4 you sometimes can not play safe if you want to have a chance to hit the green in two. If it was a bad shot: ok. Then I take the penalty of hitting a tree and landing in the thick rough. But I played two really good rounds. Hit many shots exactly how I wanted to. And I ended up with bad bounces, straight putts which were not straight at all, etc. Am I pissed and a bad loser? Yes and maybe. But honestly: If that is the way how TGC Tour golf courses will look like and play in the future I am soon out. The more as the game stutters like crazy since the last patch (and influences the putting) and the uphill putting mechanics (adjusting with the yellow marker) were changed for long putts. All I see is whaaaaaaaa.

We'd just have to figure out the MJT and D2F of every member of TGCTours and we'd be sailing.

OK. Back on track everyone. This is about discussing your rounds in the US Open. It is not for excessive airing of grievances or calling out those who are airing grievances.

70-66-69-67 (-12)
I'm bitterly disappointed. Was flying high with a second place finish on the Euro tour last week but this was a real wake up call.
The course abused me and exposed the weaknesses in my game. I got frustrated and that caused me to compound errors.
The course was tough, but it is supposed to be tough and I enjoy when scores are closer to par anyway. I should have played better. If nothing else, I will learn from this.

Winds are brutal if you're going out there now. As a lowly Web-B player I was going to need to play at my best to make the cut (my goal), and I had played well enough to in practice rounds, but a couple of really stupid mistakes on the front nine derailed any hopes of that. In my first round, the winds I don't believe ever dropped below 12 mph and were constantly closer to 15, including 1 and 5 playing dead into the wind. I shot 76-72 and glad I got to participate, and hope that I can qualify for the next major and fare a little better there!

Same here. Was happy to qualify and compete in my first major. I thought I had a chance at making the cut, but the winds were brutal tonight. Mostly around 15mph. I went 75 and 71 for +4. Good luck to all on the weekend.

As dukemann and Jason said, it's brutal to play tonight. Toughest conditions one can about possibly have. I shot a pretty good 66 in my first round and assumed that conditions would be the same for the second round. They weren't obviously. I guess that was rain I noticed in the second round? HB needs to remove shadows if they are going to put rain in the game. It made the course much softer, but with 15-16 mph for much of the round, it was still brutal. I was so ticked after going +4 through 11. I checked my phone for the leaderboard and figured this would be my first missed cut of the season. I somehow birdied my last three holes to shoot even for the second round, so I'm -5 overall. Maybe my cut streak will stay in tact, but so many people have yet to enter scores, so we shall see.

I had a solid 3 rounds - nothing spectacular except for an eagle on a par 4 which was much fun! R4 was a grind - couldn't get the putter going and it cost me a few spots on the leaderboard. Wasn't in the hunt for the win but a top 5 was within reach with a hot putter. Really enjoyed the course and congrats to all the guys above me as that's some great shooting.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but, 49 of the top 100 in WGR either did not make the cut, or WD. Really speaks to the toughness of the course. On the other hand, 9 players ranked higher than 200 made the cut. This was a very tough course, and you had to have your "A" game to score well.
Looking forward to "The Open", and hope the course plays to the same level as Elmview. Congrats Reebdoog on a well designed course. A real test of golf!
