Yep MLT and Brighttail whinging again, yep same old junk, whaaaa whaaaa, getting old and boring, seriously..... Hey You , A-hole, yeah you firstblitzer, what you 10 years old? You think you can come on here and just talk chit to people and not get a come back! Grow up! Plenty of people respectfully disagreed with my "two cents" without insulting me or anyone else. If I was on a golf course with you and you talked to me like this I would put my 4 iron in you bleeeepin bleepHole. So SHUT UP and GROW UP!

I'd do all 4 in one night if you had the calm ass winds you had! This is becoming a joke. First I think the course is challenging but unfair. INCREDIBLY unfair. Especially now that the winds are just what the @!$# ever now. Too many holes you can reach in 2 with helping winds and barely reach in 3 with bad winds. Not to mention the 11th green that apparently doesn't want to tell you if it's right to left, it just shows flat. Cool. Until they make the winds EXACTLY THE SAME FOR EVERYONE I don't know how much i'll be playing this anymore. It's pointless. Golf is not fair. A video-game portraying golf should also be equally unfair. Just needs to be the right type of unfair. Exactly the same wind for everyone - how boring that would be. Same general conditions, OK, but moving in a plus minus 90 deg arc plus swirling and gusting would be an OK approximation of what wind is like for real golf tournaments. HB were not too far off with what they gave us. If the wind would be made the exact same - I would lose interest very quickly as the feeling of "golf" would be gone and this would be exposed for the stick-flicking competition it is. This is a video game, not real golf. If competitions are gonna be run on a video game everybody shud hav equal chance to do well. If I play my tournament in 1-5mph winds and u play urs in +10mph winds thats not fair. U cant say well in real life this isnt the case because this isnt real life. And if u want it to be more realistic turn of all the aids and we'll see how well u do.

I think the difficulty of the US Open has caused a few people in this thread to start going all Sergio Garcia. Quite a bit of attacking if I say so myself.

Lots of disagreement about the conditions of this course. I will say that I have complained about a few setups in the past, most recently the decision to use Swindon Downs-The Open, instead of Swindon Downs.
I think we need to keep in mind that there needs to be a distinct difference in difficulty between the major tourneys and the normal tourneys. My biggest worry is that we are approaching a point where most all the tourneys will be fast/firm. Then we will see no distinction between the two. If I had a say in the matter, I would suggest that the normal tourneys be @ a medium firmness. If the top players shoot -60 on medium firmness, so be it.
As far as this major, I think it's spot on in the difficulty. Ideally I would like to see the cut line of majors @ even par.
But what do I know...

Still can't get my head around the concept that a course is unfair when the winning the winning score is -30 something. Not sure about the PGA but the Euro tour has only had a couple of proper fast/firm courses all season, and i actually feel has had a good mix. Take the last few events. Dovetail - fast/firm Tobo - Not firm but tricky in it's own way Celtic Vineyard - Birdie fest The French Open will be another birdie fest

U wot m8? Exactly though. This is a competition. If Sloaner and the guy that's -21 after 2 rounds got 2-5mph winds, why am I playing in 6-10 winds?
Look at the scores from every tournament last week. It's crystal clear that giving everyone the same speed of winds definitely leveled the playing field quite a bit. I can honestly say the only reason I qualified was from everyone having high winds. So the ones who usually wait for calm wind sucked eggs and I beat them. Now it's back to the same old and instead of the cut being around E. It's now -4 and climbing since they can wait for no wind.
Really hope they get it fixed again soon. I've been having a lot of fun around here and hope it stays good for the long run but right now it's a crap shoot.

I was extremely stoked about qualifying for the US Open and so naturally I had a great start for my first PGA Tour event - bogey on each of the first three holes. I battled back the rest of the round trying to get back to even par. I was at +1 on the 18th and hit into the green side bunker. I shot a very poor sand shot but was able to make a decent lag putt to give myself a chance for a 2-putt par to finish the first round at +1. Then this happened...
Anti-gravity bubble? I don't know but instead of finishing the round with a 2-putt par, I end up with a 4-putt double to finish round 1 with a +3 (74). So ya, I was livid going into my second round because I knew I now needed to pull out something really special just to complete my goal of making the cut. Fortunately, I was able to play well in the softer conditions and shot a 63 to have me sitting at -5 after two rounds. I'm not sure if that'll make the cut or not, but if I miss the cut by 1 or 2 strokes because of what happened in the above video, I surely will not be a happy camper.
Fun stuff...

Another ~24hrs to submit scores for Rd1&Rd2, I'm still quiet uncertain about what the cut is finally going to be. What do you guys actually think?

I think -6 should get in.
Do you think the reason so many scores aren't posted is because of the wind?

Could be one of the reasons, I'm not sure.
The hard/challenging course might be another reason...

I will state once again, the course is a wonderful course. When I played it the first time with the medium firmness greens it was challenging and quite fair. When it was firmed up, it became more challenging but not unplayable so long as the winds stayed around 12mph. My point was that by tweaking it out on a course that wasn't originally designed for this type of firmness, made many holes unplayable in high winds and I felt that had HB NOT scaled back the wind patch and we were forced as a community to play in 15, 18, 20mph winds more people would agree with me. As it is, the point is moot as anyone playing in those winds voluntarily would be foolish when they could wait.
My point was if a course is going to be tweaked to make it tougher by altering the firmness of the greens, then with the universal winds patch coming once again in the next month or so, this needs to be taken into consideration, much more so than it was with this course.
