Okay then... let's start this thread.
This is going to be a very exciting week to me for several reasons:
Missed the cut last week by one shot, and I absolutely need to make this one (as I wanna qualify for The Open directly through Top120-WGR). In addition to that, as I'm coming from Austria, the Lyoness Open is somehow my (virtual) home event on the Tour, so I definitely wanna show a good performance. And finally, there's the wind update and the game changed drastically with it.
So I headed into Round 1 yesterday, and was a bit nervous as I already knew the wind is going quiet high (+15mph acutally), and I didn't play well in such gusty winds lately. But maybe this tension was a good thing, as I was fully concentrated on Tee #1. Quickly resumed I can say that I played quiet a decent round on this difficult course in my opinion. I managed to stay out of real big troubles, and was able to birdie two holes.
Final score in R1: 70 (-2)
With not so many finished rounds at that early point, I was at 2nd place with that. So it might not be too bad after all.
Wind in R2 is quiet low (around 4mph). So while this is generally a good thing, it raises the pressure to shoot low(er). Hopefully I can keep the pace...

Played my first 2 rounds bogey free which i was particulary proud of considering how many fairways i missed. 1st round (-3) in 16mph wind, then in light 3mph managed (-9). Havent got a clue how i will be placed, going to be an interesting week

Tough sledding in round 1. Scraped and clawed for a 74 (+2). Didn't play well at all, but found some solace in the fact that everyone will deal with the same pain (wind) that I faced.
This wind fix is going to change the tournament atmosphere in a big way. Kudos to HB! Also to the TGC community - it was noise from our group that led to this much needed update.

Tough sledding indeed...the wind certainly makes you think about your shot and amount of draw/fade to use. Round 1 started out pretty well as I got it to 4 under, and then some really stupid play on my part, as i managed to bogey 3 holes on the back nine to finish at 1 under.
Round 2 started out on a well also, but I managed to mess this one up pretty badly trying to play too aggressively....and I payed the price. Had 7 birdies and an eagle, but, 4 bogeys and a double bogey cost me, as i only managed a 3 under round of 69. Gonna be tough to make the cut @ 4 under.
After kicking the dog, and yelling at the kids, I decided to play Round 3, and having vented all my anger, managed to play decently. Had 9 birdies and 1 bogey to finish at 8 under, and 12 under thru 3 rounds.
The wind is going to be a big game changer as we move forward, and should balance out the field a little better. Good luck to all.

Except I was -5 thru 15 in first round and went bogey, bogey, par to finish the first which is like 3 dropped shots considering the last is a straightforward and reachable par 5. Still very happy with how I fared and the eagle to finish round 2 helped to boost me to -9 for round 2. The last 2 rounds should be FUN with strong winds again. Loving the new wind update. Direction can differ which doesn't really bother me which as if it hinders me on a hole I know it will help on others and even itself out. It's a great thing. Good luck to all who have yet to post or play

This one is really going to be interesting isn't it?
First round I came out of the winds with an Even par 72, which I'll take considering how I played. Second round -7 was good, although I left a few birdies out there. Should make the cut, given the first round winds.
Played my final 2 rounds as well, but they were also pretty windy, so good luck all!
I'll be fascinated to see how this pans out!

two good rounds sandwiched by two not so good rounds, cant remember the hole but its a par 4 2nd shot over water to a shear cut green area...tee shot crept into the water, nearly put my next shot in the water by coming up short but managed to cling to the sheer face on a vertical angle...i was wrong thinking i got lucky as flopping did not budge the ball, had to resort to hitting a 45 yd pitch to a 27 yd pin...ended up with an 8 and gutted at my misfortune...so all in all could have been so much better...i really need to start playing practice rounds before the tour.

Hey! Euro elite: (Dovetail's creator dropping in from the Web tour)....... It's great reading about everyone's exploits & you all seem to be enjoying the course? If you weren't aware, this would have been my US Open design contest entry but I pulled out just before starting as I wasn't confident I could make something which would hold up against the competition. Good luck to all & have fun!! S Morris.

Not going to lie it was close but always a chance

Got wet 3 times on the first 18 and subsequently posted a 74. I'm all in favour of the wind update but ffs, what's the point if they're not changing direction. Round 2 I pulled it with a 64, just hope it's enough for the cut. Current WGR 119 but think that is not including the impact of a mediocre Nordea finish as Open qualifying took precedence last week....

77-71 Round 1 – Anything even or better is a good effort in those winds and that was my target. Sadly I missed all my birdie chances (apart from 18) and failed to scramble par when I got into trouble. Missing fairways was the killer. Round 2 – Started well, -2 through 3 but missed a gimme at 4, then somehow bogied 5 (missed fairway) and it all kind of unravelled. Was doing -6 easily in practice just fell apart under tournament pressure. Very disappointing for my first week on PC. Still getting used to the 360 controller but pretty sure when I do I’ll reap the benefits – the game feels so much better than on the consoles. And hey, if you’re going to miss the cut….do it in style. See you all at Elmview!

Round 1 for me was a killer. wind in the face for most of the front 9. +3 after four holes and although i got a few birdies i was just unable to hang onto them and finished still at +3 which i think was pretty good going since im not hitting so well atm and the 16mph wind.
Round 2 was better. came away with a few bogeys but a lot more birdies and managed to run close to the hole on 18 to make my eagle. came away with a healthy -5 giving my overall first 2 rounds a -2. Will be doing the refresh dance again this week as it gets closer to the cut. Less players this week and the high winds may make a difference but we will see.
Well done to all who managed to get below even on that first round. well played.
