Sitting safe at -14 after 2nd , the HIO in round 1 helped big time and the flop from the sand for eagle in the 2nd rd didnāt hurt either. Otherwise brutal course to say the least.

Second round with much easier conditions but I simply made it far too difficult. I made a lot of good putts but it seemed that is what I had to make to even score as my tempo was all over the place. Made at least two or three 18-20 footers just to save par. -8 puts me at -15 at the cut, safely in but just knowing I've left probably 8-10 shots over two rounds out there from just bad/silly play.

Wait til you play the 4th round. It's an unforgiving son of a.. I actually didnāt find the pins to be crazy tough by our normal standards, it was more about the shots into those pins that were sooo tough to stop, for me at least. Iād guess itās because I canāt aggressively loft up in the way others are able to, so might just be a āmeā thing.

Otherwise Iām guessing and hoping on a hope lol or draw/fade against the wind. Obviously a less exacting method but play with the game you brought, right?

As everyone has already said about the course - the struggle is real I've seen hipster beards wider than the fairways at this place. And really the toughest greens I've played on I think - found them hard to read consistently. Started with bogey, bogey on the way to a -4 round 1. And tbh I was happy to get out with that. Round 2 saw better fair with a -10, which looks like it'll be enough to scrape through the cut. Feel a bit lucky tho - didn't play that well, but managed the bad play OK. Looking forward to the promise of more pain to come...

Apparently if youāre a good flicker you can fully loft and deloft like itās 2017 (TGC2).
