Ok guys good news, I got my rubber mat, been practicing my full swing hitting the plastic at the top of the pad, the mat is keeping the controller stable, played my first round shot -12 missed a few putts but pleased on the whole. Thought I’d check with admin to see if the api was ok. Net result of all this another fail on the first round. Fortunately smiling goats has kindly agreed to watch my second round on twitch to see what is going wrong, hopefully by season 463 on the golf club 2039 I should be sorted Jesus Liam, that's a nightmare. Can you send me a photo of your crotch? Errrrmmmm, I mean I would be interested to see how you're set up nowadays! Hopefully SG can shed some light. Feel free to send me a link too. I'd be happy to give a bit of feedback if you'd like.

Decided to get round one out of the way. Felt I shot well, tempo was pretty good all round and got the ball close on many occasions but failed to convert on some crucial 8-14 footers. Happy to go only with one bogey and with one eagle, which nearly went in for an albatross, so things definitely could have gone worse. -7 for the round but definitely gave away 3 or 4 putts I think I could have had. The key is definitely hitting the fairways. I think there was only one green I couldn't reach because I went into the thick stuff. 28 putts says it all.

Ron, it's not you, it's the fact we used 187 greens. I'm guessing whoever designed this course specifically chose the value they did for the default because 187s had issues. I couldn't putt with any confidence on them, especially from close range. Didn't roll true at all.
I think I had 3 3-putts in R4... despite hitting some crazy solid irons from 200+ out into the wind.
Sometimes I think the setup folks try too hard to make things hard, when the course itself is already hard...

I had actually assumed it was 187 since we only had rounds of either 163 or 187, so that is a bit odd, tbf.
Anyway, regarding the strange putting breaks, I saw a lot of "jagged" green gridlines (horizontal line split into 3 sections with at least 2 distinctive angles of slope with sharp points of convergence instead of a smoothed curve). I think that can be attributed to LiDAR in part, but is by no means a LiDAR specific thing, since I've seen it on plenty of courses we've played this year (and past).

Oh, maybe it is LiDAR... I didn't have many problems putting on 163... especially inside 10 feet. But yea if the course is default 178, you would expect at least two rounds on the intended (shall I say optimized?) speed of the course.

In at -35. Salvaged a half decent finish after a horrendous 1st 3 rounds with a -10 in round 4. Didn't really miss a shot in final round. Could have been a special round as I missed 4 or 5 putts from 8 to 12 feet.
Didn't get a top 10 because I decided to take a trip to fast downswing city in 1st 2 rounds. Especially round 1. Game can be so infuriating sometimes. Ughhhh.
I enjoyed the course. Great rendition. Loved how all of the pins had a sh%$ ton of break around the hole. Have to applaud Michael for that. Only reason scores were so low was because there was a lot of benign pins in terms of location.
Wish more pins were like #18 in rd 1. Pin was maybe 2.5 boxes from fringe. I'm hoping for a tap in since I have wedge from FW. Got a fast. End up pin high left 25 feet away and had nothing. And made bogey. Loved that. This tour needs more of that imo. But beggers can't be choosers I guess. I was content with the uber break at the hole. Lol.
Anyways, good luck to all still playing!

Either my read was slightly off or I missed the speed, usually because I read the green with speed to go a few feet past the hole but hit the putt with hole speed instead. On this round it was me. I just missed. I didn't really have any putts that left me thinking that the break was terribly off. Wow look at me actually putting the blame on myself and not a mouse driver or some other computer component.
