New here at TGC Tour!
About to register for Q-School as I usually play on Master Club setting, Looks like a great setup, but when I check out scores for past tournaments, I can see the leaders are at scores such as - 40!
I don't have a hope of ever hitting those numbers over four rounds. If I hit par on a round I feel I've done well! Are there any players here on my level using master clubs? Do I have the slightest chance of being somewhat competitive?
Thanks for the help guys.

Yep, you’ll be fine. You’ll improve quickly, but even if you qualify for the lowest ranks, even par won’t be close to last there. Maybe try pro clubs to begin with, you’ll probably score a lot better. You don’t have to use Master clubs until you’re on the 3rd highest tour.

As far as the scoring goes, this sight caters for everyone and all club levels. If you qualify through Q school, you will be placed on a tour fitting your level. everything from the PGA (Worlds best) down to the CC-Z and beginners tour. Cheers and Good luck

Welcome to tgctours. The first bit of advice I would give you is not to think to much about other people’s scores, lot of people here have been playing on tgctours for years, and like with most things, with experience comes improvement. Secondly, if master clubs is what you enjoy using the most, don’t worry about being competitive at first, play with them. Don’t forget that this is a game and meant to be fun. Very few people are competitive when they start. If you look at the pro tour leaderboards, most of those people started in the lower tours, some moved up quickly, for others it took years. Focus on your own game first, after that, find a rival on what ever tour you end up on, someone whose scores are similar to yours, have them as your first target in being competitive. As time goes on, you will get better, find new goals, like a top 20 finish,a top 10. You will continue to improve the more you play, there will be good weeks, and bad weeks but enjoy the ride, you will be surprised how quickly your average scores will improve.

Sounds awesome dudes.
Yeah I'm not bothered too much about winning tournaments and all that. It's just nice to be part of a community. I was just worried that I'd be way out of my depth but from what you guys have said, it looks like it could be real fun either way.
Cheers! 😀

Besides the main tours, there are some fantastic community run events and societies. They are a good way to get extra practice in as well as meeting other like minded people, well worth checking out.

Welcome to the obsession - to answer your question just look at a tour and go to ABOUT the middle of the standings - Go see in CC-Z tour and the middle is about -1 but the next higher tournament on the same course was -13 in the middle.
This happened to me in TGC1 and then TGC2 and again in TGC19. Something "click" and all of a sudden you understand the world and you are off and running. Before that it's struggle struggle struggle - after the "click" it's only ONE struggle LOL
And as others have said and is true in IRL golf - you are only against yourself until you get to the top top levels OR near the top of a tournament.
Also - every course will be different. A few weeks ago I ended 120th and the very next week I was hovering around 30th . . .until I found the "unplayable lie glitch" and took a 10 on a par 3. But some courses are just in your wheel house and others you can not understand how everybody else is killing it and you are not.
See ya in the mid levels soon!

It'll take a little time to settle in and get comfortable, and most of us don't bite -- as you've already noticed. For now, the most important thing to remember is "Blame Pablo!" Don't worry about understanding the reference -- Hell, I don't even remember its origins, but it's still true -- any kind of issue/problem, etc. "Blame pablo!".
(Sorry, P.A..... just couldn't resist getting the new guy off on the right foot!)

Welcome!!
I play master clubs, and my average scores per round are +5 to -5. If you end up in CC-Z after Q-school, look for my name on the board, Josia Deebe. be glad to give you competition!
