Round 3 in at -11. ππ
Tale of two nines here. Hit a really nice 2nd shot on 2 for a tap-in eagle. Had some GREAT looks at birdie that just didn't fall. I was missing just high on all of them. Back 9 was more of the same missing high. However, I've NEVER putted as well as I have thru 3 rounds here. Had a 5 foot eagle putt on 12. Holed out from the fringe on 11. Holed out from the fringe on 15. Hit a beautiful full on hook from the rough on 17 that saw me miss the birdie. Hit another beaut fade on 18 to 9 feet and finished it off.
Will finish up later.
Good shooting all. ππ

Yes. A DS4. But like I said it was way different on the course. You get these type of swing lines if your DS4 is new to fairly new and if you have your swing under control. Now if you can bring that swing in tournament play and what the will API think of it, that's another story! From experience, when you swing like that you kinda always borderline triggering it!
Or even if it's not a newish controller... Really a shame that a player is needing to try to alter his swing to add deviation to pass the API check. Starting to wonder if I should do this too.

I was just trying out the technique of letting go when you hit the plastic because I got some flack about short swings. But I think I'll stick with my flickish swing because it gives me more deviation and I almost won The Masters.

I was just trying out the technique of letting go when you hit the plastic because I got some flack about short swings. But I think I'll stick with my flickish swing because it gives me more deviation and I almost won The Masters. In TGC2 I perfected my full thumb swing after 1000βs of swings. It still works in 2019 but had to adjust to letting go sooner(flags). I am fairly straight but definitely not perfect and it really does take effort to maintain the feel. Alternatively, I learned how to do a flick swing in one evening and get perfect lines to the extent I would be afraid to use it in TGCT. I would have to fully commit though because whenever I mess with it I get all messed up in my normal swing tempo. Just for example I watched when Sloaner Aced 4 in a row for a demonstration. I was able to Ace 3 out of about 10 from 150yards on no wind flat practice green. So if you are wondering what the hoopla is all about, that is where it stems. Some donβt believe it but the deviation gets messed up on short swings. Nobody can convince me otherwise. Good for you or anybody else that can pass API using it. βπΌ

Round 4 in at -11. ππ
Total of -45. ππ
Played really well throughout and putted extremely well for not making enough. I was able to hole some key putts and some HUGE benders that went in backwards. Round 4 saw my lone bogey where I went in the water on 11. Tried to hit a cut 6 iron that registered fast and it WAS all me. Almost holed it for a par, but wasn't meant to be. Bounced back with a HUGE curler dropping on 12. Lipped the eagle on 13 and was 1 yard off my spot on 14. Little luck on 15 kept me dry and almost holed the chip. Went for the famed "ace" on 16 that saw it roll barely by on the right all the way to 12 feet and finished it off on a tricky read. Made great use of the slope on 17 for a tap-in and just burned the edge on 18. ππ
My best ever finish in a Major. Proud of the way I played and really hope to continue hitting the ball like I am. Putting needs work, but it's heaps better.
Well played, Machine Jr. Well played all. ππ

Had a play through FSAG, did OK, but my scores have no place in this thread... suffice to say I ended up a few shots shy of Brad Congrats dude for finally nabbing the GJ. And to Tyler and James - all 3 of you playing on a different plane this week. Thought the course looked and played superb π

Awesome job by the designer.

I get a full line every time (and pretty straight). I tend to even hold the follow through against the plastic. I have posted videos in the driving range forum of exactly how I hold my hands. I basically rotate the controller with the left hand while holding my right thumb on the left joystick.
I tried once for about 15 minutes to execute flicks on the driving range and I cannot do it right, or at least would have to completely adjust my backswing as well which I don't want to do because it is really consistent. If I try to get a shorter line by just letting go halfway through the swing I end up having very fast tempo or shanks. My full swing is so straight I don't see the point unless this is the secret to passing the API

Watching something very special on TV now. Tiger Woods two up with two to play. It all turned around on #12 when the leader stuck his ball in the water. Tiger put away the club he was planning to use, apparently to try to challenge the pin and instead put it safely in the middle of the green.
Should Tiger go on to win, I don't think it will be the best ever Masters, that I believe still goes to the 1986 Masters where Nicklaus won his 18th major and 6th green jacket at a time when no one ever expected he would. I think the come back story here makes this year at least in the top 3.

Thanks for the messages fellas. This was a pretty sweet one to win, especially as I don't have the greatest history in this tournament over all. It's my favourite course to play, but I usually make some unforced errors to shoot myself out of the running. I'm not a leaderboard watcher, but after missing from 6 feet for birdie on 8 to be sitting at -3 for the round, I had to take a look to see where I was and what I needed to do. Seeing that Tyler had gone on a charge with an incredible 57 in the final round gave me the kick in the backside that I needed. I made a great putt on nine after a decent approach, I think that gave me the belief that I could still do it and started to tick off the required birdies and play much better. The holed chip on 15 was the bit of luck that I desperately needed, and that took the pressure off a little. Seeing that James and Christophe were tied with me after two rounds made the wait a bit stressful, but in the end I'd done just enough. Kudos to Craig LeVasseur for creating a masterpiece of an RCR, all without LiDAR too Special mentions to Tyler and James for getting beyond the -50 mark; unlucky guys, but great shooting nonetheless. Congrats on securing a top ten Scott, Christophe, Liam, Daxon, Chris, Bob and Jules - well played fellas. Had a few quid on Tiger @16/1 and got a place with Tony Finau too. Not a bad Masters week
