Don’t know if this changes things, but I was just promoted from CC-E to CC-D. Just thought I would give you a heads up

After a mediocre round 1, I was killing it in round 2,until.... 7th hole, game stuttered in my back swing, just a hair too late to bail out of the swing. Gave me a "slow", which I never get (I'm fast if not perfect) and naturally, that landed me in a pond. Dropped in a bad spot and managed to roll one back into the pond again. Ended up with triple. Proceeded to go back to killing the course again and finished at -9 that likely would have been at worst a -12 if not for that BS. So frustrating. If I brick, fine, but when the game screws you, it really annoys me. Sitting at -16 after 2 rounds. Sometimes I feel there is little inconsistencies in the game. I've had swings where I've felt it's a P/P and get a VS/P, I wouldn't be too bothered with a slow but a very slow left me puzzled. I think the amount of planting around the course can affect the swings as well. It's something I just accept as there are probably a lot of players in the same boat. I'm normally good at hitting fairways but in the last couple of weeks I've noticed a drop. I don't know if practising with Master clubs then switching to Pro for my round affects my tempo, that's something I'll check out for my next round.

I don't know if practising with Master clubs then switching to Pro for my round affects my tempo, that's something I'll check out for my next round. I find that playing some practice holes with Master and then switching back to Pro helps my tempo. You have to be so precise with the Master set that it feels easier afterwards to get P/Ps on Pro. Kind of like swinging 5 bats in the on deck circle, I guess. I get a majority of P/Ps on Pro, but when I am off, it's the backswing 99% of the time and fast about 95% of the time. I'm never slow. In this instance, it was one of those (does this happen to you guys from time to time?) where you draw the club back and nothing happens, then suddenly it's all the way at the top of the backswing in about a millisecond. It doesn't happen often and when it does, I always release the stick to abort the swing and then start over (this is the only time I get slows, it seems to happen a LOT after an aborted swing to me.) In this instance, the backswing barely started and then it froze and released really quickly just as I was snapping the stick up. That's super-rare, but naturally the one time out of 500 shots that it occurs is not only in a round that REALLY counts, but also one that has water just short of the green.

I crashed the game earlier by performing a heavy hook around a tree that brought loads of new planting into shot! That was, er, interesting...

The current standings in the CC-A qualifiers are
Marc Van Niekerk -17 Johnny Bollocks -16 Glen Henderson -15 Hunter Butler -13 Travis Sailer -12 _____________________ David Stevenson -10 Jim McCarthy -7 Jeff Greene -5 Simon Morris -1
Two rounds in and the qualifiers are taking shape, but two rounds don't make a tournament so there's still a lot to play for.

Oh man...looking like that bourbon influenced 5-putt on the 72nd hole is going to come back to bite me! I was hoping five of you would just run away with it so i wouldn't regret it as much

Well, I can tell you that in round 3, I finally caught the breaks (or at least, didn't get boned like in round 2) and posted the -12 I should have had in round 2. Put me in good shape at -28 after 3 rounds.............. and then round 4 came. COULD. NOT. BUY. A. PUTT. It was one of those rounds I'm sure you've all had where every GD putt is.. "Ohhhh...juuust missed. Ummm, you could've had a birdie on that last hole...I think you know that." Yeah, I know that, John - how 'bout you go play a nice game of Hide and Go #### Yourself? I must have had 9-10 tap-in pars, no hyperbole - 10 putts of 2 feet or less. It was so frustrating. Ended up with a putrid 69 and a final score of -31. Hopefully that's good enough to qualify. Looks like it should be unless Mr. Stevenson puts up a couple of 61s.

Haha you've just described SO many of my rounds. I posted in my dirtbags group that I'm 5th in CC-C after 2 rounds, and you have to go down to 71st to find someone with same PPH as me! But don't diss John! It's not his fault! I love John. "Good putt there bud!"

For me, it will be at least Monday because I'm headed to the beach house with the goon squad tomorrow and the plan is to be too hammered on beer and whiskey to even see the phone screen until Monday AM. The suspense is killing me now.....
