Maybe a couple rounds of very slow next week would teach the complainers to appreciate what they get. It's funny to me because I putt better on 144 or 187 than the 163 greens. Probably why I am near the top this week. My first few rounds after joining tgctours I struggled to make anything on the 163s, I've gotten better at it with practice and lost a little touch on the other settings now. I think complaining about the setup being velcro when the scores are similar to every other week is not necessary. Just play a couple practice rounds if you need to prepare yourself and adjust your game to atke advantage. I'd like to lodge a complaint against this complaint about previous complaints. My opinion: Venturing too far from a designer's default firmness and speed is dangerous because it tends to distort the software physics. However, props to Eric for raising his hand and explaining how this week was formulated. Also, kudos to Dale for reaching out to Eric for his setup thoughts prior to the week. I never realized schedulers took the time. Pretty cool. While it's not a matter of "I sucked so this setup sucks," OR "Just practice more and stop complaining," we can all agree we want fairest test presented. #pro

Best tour round to date (I think) in round 3, but my pathetic round 1 has me almost certainly out of contention. Regardless, it was a fun one, holed every putt I looked at nearly, and played some draw/fade shots really well with/against the wind to work towards my ideal landing spot. Going to hold off on round 4, being in the 144 putting zone probably doesn't translate well hopping straight onto 187's.

Fair is subjective, the tour is never going to agree on what's fairest, and I don't think there is anything wrong with the physics of this course on 144 settings

I guess that shows you that I never put my greens that low. I had no idea the game even went to 106! Pretty much all of my time in the designer is spent somewhere between 163-187, so I'm a moron and I missed the memo early on I think. What I THOUGHT I was doing was this: Very Fast = 187 Fast = 174 Moderate = 163 Slow = 155 Very Slow = 144 I don't know where I got those numbers, probably something I made up in my brain one day that I thought was right and then convinced myself that it was. So when I recommended to Dale that one of the rounds be moderate, in my pea-brain I thought I was telling him 163. Very, very sorry guys! To be honest your suggested numbers are ideal in my mind. Never mind the fact we have the 100 foot putt rule. Playing on 144 could create the problem where you just canβt get the ball to the hole on a 90+ footer thatβs uphill the whole way.

I didnβt even think about checking with you on this Eric, so my bad as well. I actually like 144 greens on occasion, so wouldnβt be a problem with me. I should have played better this year to qualify for top50

Went ahead and finished, looked up at my 4round total after it was all done and was surprised at the score - especially given that 1st round. Pretty obvious what's boosted me this week, that 3rd round is something special and unrepeatable, by me at least.
Let's see where I end up vs the ps4 guys....

Show me yours, I'll show you...wait, that doesn't sound right... I was very cold this week so i'm guessing yours will be considerably more impressive for this event

I shot -52 in the end and was pretty upset about it after all that... looking back itβs obviously just nice to remind myself I can still compete for a W on my day.
Bogeyed 54 and 55, missed a 7ft putt on 2, missed and eagle putt I should have made on the front 9, lipped out for an Ace on 9 and lipped out for eagle up 18... was disappointed not to make an eagle in R4 given the pins.
Nearly. Very nearly.

Don't want to spoil the fun for Brad and whoever else is still yet to play.

-25 thru 2. ππ
Quite the rounds I must say. Something like 9 bogies and 7 eagles. π³π³
Close enough.
Gross. ππ

Always thought it strange how some players can shoot the lights out in demanding windy conditions, then struggle in light winds. Never figured that one out. Perhaps the strength of the wind doesn't make any difference to the "wind clickers" out there. I could never bring myself to play that way, always seemed a bit underhand to me. If there is a crosswind then aim left or right, a lot more satisfying that way. Anyway, 26 under after 2 and preparing for a windy R3.

Don't know why, but it's like that! lol
