Always thought it strange how some players can shoot the lights out in demanding windy conditions, then struggle in light winds. Never figured that one out. Perhaps the strength of the wind doesn't make any difference to the "wind clickers" out there. I could never bring myself to play that way, always seemed a bit underhand to me. If there is a crosswind then aim left or right, a lot more satisfying that way. Anyway, 26 under after 2 and preparing for a windy R3. I find your argument strange. If the strength of the wind made no difference to “wind clickers” then they wouldn’t struggle in any wind. Am I missing something?

I think it’s probably due to the fact that more of the field can throw darts when it’s calm, more so those that are benefiting from the short swing... when it’s calm, some with full swings will find it more difficult to compete due to the added dispersion they can get raising proximity to the hole, but high winds level the field somewhat. Probably. Clicking vs skegging - meh. I’m a skegger. People play the game different ways.

Still don't see how a decent player shoots 57 in high winds followed by 64 when it's calm. Anyway, watching a wind clicker shoot straight at the flag in a 20 mph crosswind just bothers me. Seems lazy..

Seems lazy.. Demotivated? Bad putting day vs good putting day? sh%$ day at work? Few beers? Lazy - nah. Quite the opposite when compared to my game. I take the lazy option and just cut / draw against it a bit and estimate the rest. Counting clicks and all that jazz is certainly more involved, but it’s not for me.

Let me ask, do you just feel the distance too?
I click for wind to a point mainly because there is no pointer anymore. It’s not a precise thing still a lot of feel to it. I guess what I’m saying is everybody adjusts for all the dynamics, nobody at least at the top just slaps it about. How you adjust wether with the circle, a click or some other method you need to have some clue how much the variables affect your shot. Besides I rarely shoot 57 in any condition!😀

No I'm not good enough to just feel the distance. Loft and deloft is required there but I think that's a bit more forgivable than a big block into a crosswind. If the full swing was a little more friendly as regards pulling out a 90% hit for example I would certainly do away with the loft option.

I just think using that circle is too tedious. I need to get as accurate a count as possible because my swing adds more than enough dispersion. Only way I can compete up here.

Not gonna lie, even with the interesting conditions for this course I had high hopes for this week. Unfortunately it looks like I'm gonna be at the bottom. Had slow downswings on pretty much every hole on the front 9 in RD1 along with 3 or 4 slow backswings at the worst possible time. Thought that my tempo issues were cleared up... I guess not. Definitely a 'pathetic' round as some would call it. Although I feel my RD1 more accurately represents the true meaning of the word. Anyway, one can still be hopeful. There's still 3 rounds left to go. Oh joy...
