Not sure I'll play this week. Not huge links fan but it's more a time thing. 3 societies is too much. I need to drop one . Probably be TST. Can't come close to being competitive so not sure why I bother.

I stopped playing TST myself a few weeks ago, don't miss it. This is the REAL tour.
Overall +3 (+2,E,-1,+2)
11 birdies, 12 bogeys, 1 double
My stats: meh!
Not a big fan of luck of the bounce links, but understand you got to mix it up. Just me whining for not shooting well TBH
Good luck to those still to play and look forward to the next event!

I had a really good R3 (for me). I shot 64 with a clean card. So I had a 15-stroke swing between R2 and R3 that leaves me at +3 overall (E, +9, -6). I hope I can shoot as well in R4, but a realistic goal is to finish even par or better for the tournament. Best of luck to everyone yet to finish! NB: I think I'm actually doing better here relative to the rest of the field in USE than I am in the current promotion event at tGCT. After 2 rounds there, I'm tied 533rd. (No, really. 533rd!) Of course, I'm playing USE settings against a field using every aid possible, so I'm not really surprised.

FYI we're switching it up next week with the beautiful and much more relaxing Belfry, which is actually my favourite RCR in this game. And just to add, enjoy the chill at Belfry while it lasts because we're going to go medieval on your asses again with difficulty the following week

My kind of course selection here! Ramp the green speed up a bit and it starts showing some real teeth...

I also dropped TST, never thought I would since I have always been a huge advocate for playing TST style, but after playing in this society, I just don't have fun on TST. I am unable to play this week due to work / family commitments. I'm hoping to be back next week, pending travel for work.

With the loft box, those guys are still pin-seeking and shooting ridiculous scores. No loft-box completely changes the equation.

Shame not to see you on the leaderboard Dave as I like to tee it up withe your ghost with the friendly rivalry we have. After the disaster of a 1st round 79 with countless pull hooks my second round was so much better a 72 that felt really satisfying with 3 birds, one a 24 footer and an a nice breaking 17 ft eagle putt. Course played long in those winds and will be interesting to see the average score for round 2.

Belfry, excellent choice!
Here is a chart showing how difficult the previous USE events have played out.
What it took to win, finish top 10, and what percentage of players shot E or better for the tournament.
USE event: Win score -Top 10 -% E/better
Oakmont -19 -8 62%
Chambers Bay -15 -3 52%
Congressional -18 -7 63%
Pebble Beach -30 -22 82%
Celtic Manor -20 +3 41%
St. George ? ? ?
Surprised to see Celtic played so difficult for the field with only 41% shooting E or better & +3 earning a Top 10. St. George is looking pretty tough so far, curious to see how it will compare.
