Just completed the first two rounds on Muir Woods GC. I shot 2 under in R1 then gave it back in R2. Sitting and waiting to see if even par is good enough to make the cut. R1 (-2) R2 (+2) Total (E) wrong thread!! +2 first round for me at St. George (ugly start with 4 bogeys, got 2 birdies back on the way in) Got my work cut out for me. LOL, sorry. Played so many lately.

Ok, I got the first 2 rounds in at St. Georges. I was feeling pretty good about just being 3 over on the first round. It was difficult getting close to the pin. Rd 2 was a completely different animal. The high winds of St. Georges administered a vicious beatdown upon me. It was much more difficult to get close to the pin. I ended up with a +12 for R2 and limped to the clubhouse. I am at +15 after Round 2.
R1 (+3) R2 (+12) Total (+15)

Not very often that I can say this, but I really enjoyed the grind that was both round 1 and round 2 for me so far. Shot -1 in each round, and I can tell the rest of you that the struggle was real. I think it was the second round that I putted off the green on #10 after a putt that nearly stopped right by the edge of the hole. I flopped it past the hole, and it didn't come down leaving a tickler for bogey that just snuck in the left edge. Man I was sweating making a big number there.
On the bright side, this Society has been such a help for my putting. I'm not ready to go no grids for the tours, but would like the option to turn the grid off after I see the general slope at this point.
I'll be looking to make up ground on Gavlaar with my final rounds later this week.

First round under my belt, started strong before giving a few back to the course. a 4 putt on 11 didn't help but getting up and down from 220 yards after putting the ball in the water on 14 sure helped. Hopefully can bounce back with under par next round.

Pulled even after 2 rounds with El Juicy One and Mcbogga. There was some gale force winds out there. Something about that round made it very fun though. I did play descent, which helps but that was one round where the winds were extremely tough but a great challenge and fun to play. #NoLoftBoxThisWeek
This was one on 17 to pull even with with the aforementioned players.

Chased Gav around in the final 2 rounds, and I must say that I threw up all over myself. I hit the ball fantastic, but never did get past the 4 putt at the 2nd or the 3 putt at the 3rd in round 3. Round 4 was better, but still had way too many putts. I can't speak for everybody, but man were the 5 footers around here tough to judge. Finished the event at +1. I'll be back next week to hopefully improve on that effort.

I'll be back next week to hopefully improve on that effort. After shooting even par in R1, I watched my game blow away in the winds of R2. Bogeys felt like pars, pars felt like birdies and birdies felt like, well, I wish I knew what birdies felt like in that round. Finished the round +6 or +9 or some other curvy number after a plus sign. So I'll see your "way too many putts" and raise it with even more putts. I hit most of the fairways and a lot of the greens in regulation, but when your approach shot lands 40-60 feet from the pin consistently, you're going to post a big number. I just couldn't get a feel or a reliable math calculation for what I thought the wind mph was. I think I was guessing 15-20 mph when it was really about 20-25. I never got it figured out. EDIT: Sidebar: Stoney, I really enjoyed Horseshoe Bay. Well-laid out, challenging but not silly, and really well-planted and well-sculpted. High 4 stars/low 5 stars and a favorite. My only real complaint is the default high winds combined with default 187 greens. But I'm a wind wuss, so YMMV. Cheers!

I'm really proud of Horseshoe Bay, and yes the greens are a bit quick (would change for a tour version) but you live and you learn. Default winds in the designer are absolutely ridiculous (in that you can't set it how you want it). I designed the course with a prevailing Northeast wind at medium. They are running it as Course 3 in the RRCC this week with the wind set to how I envisioned if you want to give it a shot at how it was meant to play.
Really appreciate the play and feedback!
