If there is such a big difference in the downswings and only a small difference of 1ish shots per round doesn't that mean xbox users make the ground up on other things, I know myself as a ps4 user, I can tempo well but can't hit in the blue line almost ever. on chips I see people chip in all the time where as I can't get tempo right on chips or flop shots, and can't swing them straight either... I miss straight putts sometimes because I can't swing in the blue line... are people taking these things into account as well. I would have thought nearly 20% difference in tempo would be a lot more then 1 shot per round Well for one it's way more than 1-ish per round, no idea where that data came from. Second the problem is what a P/F actually does, which is make the shot go long and left. So unless you're a God at putting, you can't make that up when you're stuck with 20-30 footers vs <10 assuming you hit the shot you drew up. I don't know why this is even still a discussion tbh. If we could make it up other ways it would show on the painfully obvious one-sided leaderboards. Yesterday I had 5 very fast downswings in one round three of those with irons that’s not a typical round but the three rounds after it I had 9 in three rounds. Out of my four rounds i hit about thirty P/P with any of the clubs. I got lots of slow backswings for some reason, I know they only affect the distance but the master club driver was traveling about 275 yds with roll on some fairways but with irons it’s the difference between carrying a bunker or being in it. When you get the fast downswings it’s the difference between being close to the flag or putting/chipping from the back. I normally have no trouble with backswing if anything I usually get fast rather than slow but yesterday I was lucky to get a perfect.

The issue I usually have is that the fast almost always comes with irons. And if it’s near water then that’s 2 strokes easy. I get the random fast downswing with irons a couple times a round. I never feel it. I can feel the slow. I rarely ever get what I consider to be a random fast with a driver. I’m starting to wonder if it is correlated to lag issues at times. I notice sometimes, mostly with irons, that my player will have a faster swing overall (visually, not from my controller), making it hard to get the tempo right. This tends to be when a hole ends up being laggy as I progress through it.

I think some of the problem with the male golfers swing is that with the irons he hasn’t got a full swing to the top and it’s harder to judge. The female golfer has more of a full swing I need to try playing as the female avatar and test my theory out.

I need to try it definitely, that’s why I think I have problems knowing where the top of the swing is at where with a full swing it’s obvious

I switched to Female to play a Rangering round on Commonwealth Country Club and indeed the backswing was longer and you could see the top of the club stop more easily. BUT, and this is a BIG but, the females putting stroke is so much different than the male (it seems to have a bit of a jerk in it at the beginning, and changes speeds) that it totally ruined my putting. I had to change back to Male at hole 5. I am not saying one couldn't adapt with practice, but it was not worth it to me.

I tried making this move a couple months ago just as a gag to dress her up crazy and make my alt shot buddies laugh, not expecting any impact on my game, and within a few holes noticed my putting completely went to sh%$. Couldn't judge distance to save my life.
