Obviously I'm not suggesting all you Xboxers be stupid - except Ray obvs Maybe I'm wrong - but a few comments here and there don't really equate to "blowing up" to my mind. Especially considering this thread seems pretty mild by TGCT forum standards. I hope I'm wrong and they do fix it - even the 10% drop off from PS4 to PC gets on my nerves a little - that's a big disadvantage. Can't imagine what you Xboxers feel... But in 6 months time, this thread will still be here is my guess. I haven’t complained (much) because I like it the way it plays on XBox, and don’t care if it’s not a level playing field. I suspect I’ll drop to Web during the season - but I think I’d have stopped playing if I was shooting the scores the PGA guys are shooting.

lots of stats & good stuff to those that likes em You seem to know your sh%$, the analysis looks good to my eyes. The original conclusion of the OP still bears more weight than this as far as I can make out tho, would you agree? Wk 2 missed cut analysis - 2 rounds, fewer players considered (pro tours only), binary data, caveated correctly that the binary states are not truly independent. Binomial distribution. OP Q-school analysis - 8 rounds, every player considered (almost), discrete data, no real caveats that I can see (not an expert tho). Normal distribution. The original q-school analysis has quite a few advantages over the more limited cut analysis. As you'll know: normal distribution > binomial distribution. Both analysis use the same assumption (skill proportionally split between platforms). The original Q-school analysis shows a clear drop-off for Xboxers & a small drop-off for PC. That's where my money still lies...

I'll go read all that later, but just 1 thing - settle down a bit there guy. We're just talking, it's just a conversation, doesn't need to turn into a who's-smarter-than-who contest. Cheers. It is not my intention to make this a "who's-smarter-than-who contest". I was simply trying to illustrate that the data provided by Swaeromotion does not meaningfully suggest that Xbox users are at a material disadvantage compared to PC/PS4 users. My post ended up being a wall of text because I wanted to clearly explain and illustrate how I reached that conclusion. (Hopefully I achieved that goal.) It still is a conversation, but when data and analysis are brought forth to lend weight to an assertion, we should welcome scrutiny of that data and analysis to test the assertion's validity. Cheers. You seem to know your sh%$, the analysis looks good to my eyes. The original conclusion of the OP still bears more weight than this as far as I can make out tho, would you agree? Thank you for the complement. I wouldn't classify myself as an expert in statistical analysis, but I probably know more than the average bear. With respect to the conclusion of in the OP, it was asking a slightly different question. Larry was used scores from the St. Bedes rounds in Q-School. And yes, the data he presented suggests that PS4 players tend to have lower scores than XB1/PC users, but when you look at the box plot in the post, the interquartile ranges (the box part) overlap a bunch for each platform. Taking the provided scoring means and standard deviations we have 90% intervals of the following for each platform: 63.8-82.6 (PC) 65.7-82.1 (XB1) 62.7-80.6 (PS4) There's a lot of overlap in those ranges. Now I do think that Larry's data does strongly suggest that PS4 scores are significantly different from PC/XB1 scores (i.e. probably not zero difference). That could mean that PS4 is an easier platform to score on or it could mean that the population of PS4 players are better virtual golfers on average or it could be a combination of the two or it could be...you get the idea. Again, I'd love to see the underlying data and play around with it and see what comes out, but I'm not sure where to get it. I disagree with the assertion a normal distribution is better than the binomial distribution. Yes, the binomial distribution is a special case of the normal, but every distribution (normal, binomial, Poisson, chi, etc.) have their own uses and it's important that we use the correct one to describe our data (and be aware of the assumptions we make about that data).

It’s no good asking HB if they have any data that confirms it one way or the other because it will open a can of worms that they don’t want to deal with.

The data Jeff provided makes it clear there is a disadvantage using Masters clubs on XBox as opposed to PC or PS4. The data Bob provided was to back it up, it wasn’t what most people were basing their opinion on.

The solution is obvious. PS4 players play Master clubs, PC players use Pro clubs and xbox uses beginners. There all fixed!

Here is Xbox users answer! Corsair has its mouse and keyboards able to be used with Xbox consoles. So at least you can be like PC users!!!

Seems a bit much for a game where all you have to do is move a stick back then up (for some not even all the way to the top). Plus how the hell do i use that laying on the couch!

I wonder if that plays the same as the keyboard on PS4 did for TGC1, where you'd press the space bar and get a perfectly straight shot? I assume HB fixed that, but who knows.

HB actually fixing a bug that is platform specific? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.
How long did they have the mouse swing where we could pause indefinitely and do creeper flops/shots with perfect percentage each time? Answer btw, TGC 2019. We could do it in TGC 1 and 2 and they knew about it the entire time, just didn't care! It was about the same amount of time they kept phantom break in the game. Heck ball squirt would probably still be in the game if it was a bug and not an actual setting they put into the game themselves.

How do you know ball squirt is not still in the game?
