I'm NOT gonna make a lot of friends with this thread but whatever. Player Clubs are a joke and if someone on the top tours (Web, Euro, PGA) is thinking about using them, well that someone would be better off playing TGC 1 in my opinion. I got a friend who plays always with me, turn based. He was also on TGCT last year and his name is Massimiliano Faleschini - you can all check his record: he is an average player, with both very good and very mediocre moments. So since release he was struggling A LOT to stay in the red cone with Tour Clubs (XB1 stock pad - PC) and today, since he won't probably have time to join back TGCT, I suggested him to switch to Player Clubs. He did...and for the next two and half hrs of golf we played he never f@cking missed the center by half inch. Seemd so strange, so like a straightshooter aid, that afterwards I had to try to prove that BS was wrong. Guess what - nope; the BS was right. Player Clubs swing is 1:1 TGC 1. I never missed the center, even when I tried on purpose I went just a tad off, on the red cone margins at worst. So, CC players aside, casual players here for fun and banter and so on aside, I think if you came to TGCT for the competition, to prove yourself against the playing field and you waited for TGC 2 cause you wanted "something more" and a much interesting challenge...you MUST play Tour Clubs. Or go back TGC 1. Anyone who's good enough to be WEB and up (or even top CC-A) who still believes that Player Clubs are not the exact same mistake-free, get out of jail for free, kind of clubs.....well sorry but is full of sh%$ I didn't realize this before cause I'd never even bother trying Player Clubs after reading that they were a lot like TGC 1, but now I think Player VS Tour on the same courses we are going to see in the beginning of the season (TGC 1 ports) is almost as unfair as Stock VS Hori/Logitech controller. So ppl who wanna a much more leveled playing field should strongly be against the free choice of clubs in the top tours. That's it.

I've been using both on and off..
Players Clubs are a little more difficult than TGC1.. They are just much easier to hit than Tour Clubs in TGC2..
If you are so good using Tour Clubs then you should have no problems beating someone using the Players Clubs.. If you can't beat them using the Tour Clubs.. Maybe you should consider the Players Clubs..
Right now if they announced the Tours were starting back and you could use whatever clubs you want.. I am using the Players Clubs.. Anybody that don't like that can kiss my %#$
If they announce that only Tour Clubs are allowed... Then I will become a better designer since I wont be finishing many tournaments..

I am slowly getting better with the Tour clubs. Problem is: I have to go to Q-school. Against a lot of guys using players clubs i will have no chance. It's almost a different game. And if i am starting in CC it will be hard to advance ... against the players using players clubs. Tour clubs mandatory for Web and higher won't help in some cases.
Will there be different qualifying rules for tour clubs and players clubs?
I would say that a E par round with tour clubs is worth as much as a -5 with players clubs - at least.

Great Just FYI - right now, at this moment, for how the mechanics are working, you can be as good as you want with Tour Clubs, and beat as many Player Clubs adopters as you want. The fact that 1 inch off on the analog with Tours means heavy rough/water/sand/OOB and with Players nothing but fairway still remains.

The tempo is a joke on player clubs, I can consistantly get perfect/perfect with them. On tour I struggle to get perfect backswing and now and again get a fast downswing. I also find it near on impossible to hit out of the cone unless I do it purposefully with player clubs . They are laser accuracy golf, more arcade like. How HBS think they have an even balance is beyond me

So if people play with Player Clubs, they can't play on the TGC Tours? That's the spirit. Alienate a lot of people. How about you play how you want and let others play how they want. If it's not mandatory, then it's not a issue. If they decide to use only Tour Clubs, then you get your wish. I just think they will lose more than half the members.
**** - I think a patch might fix a few things. So maybe hold off judgments til then.

I have not been competing in TGC1 but I still played most weeks.. Most of the time I missed the cut on the Euro.. But I still played because it was fun.. If I get frustrated enough with a video game I will stop playing.. Some people look at video games different than others.. If not fun, I no play..

If any club will be allowed I surely don't think 100% of the Tour Club adopters will be happy to play against laser-bean accuracy Player Clubs. And just to be clear I was referring just to the TOP TOURS, where almost 70-80% of the players have mastered TGC 1 to a point that every PAR was a like a bogey back there. Give them Player Clubs and there'a TGC 1 all over again, with ZERO variety.

Do you think I have fun seeing you (just an example, nothing personal) swing like you don't care cause you almost can't miss the fairway where I have to sweat every shot like a 50foot parabolic putt for PAR and dealing with hazards every time the servers deicide to sh%$ themselves or I hit the stick up a quarter of an inch to the right/left?

Tour Player here. Give me 15 more yards and I will not care about Player Clubs users.

In my experience playing on Xbox player clubs are only slightly straighter than using tour they are not as straight as the TGC1 swing

And this thread illustrates exactly why the decision to implement different swings was one of the many awful decisions made by HB regarding the game.
Isn't it ironic that those who wanted all this supposed realism got what they wanted, but now they want everyone to only play their way so they can compete. Otherwise they're not worthy. You wanted your weekend hacker game. You got it. Go enjoy that and let others play the way they want without the name calling and veiled cheating accusations.
I swear, I thought the arrogant sim elitists were bad in racing. This bunch is making them look like angels.
