Here is something I have noticed and maybe one or two of you have noticed it also. Trying to play this game with a controller OR a mouse has brought something to my attention, when I play with a mouse it seems I can roll the ball ON A PUTT over the hole OR hit a corner AT A SLOW speed and the ball doesn't go in? whereas a controller (when I can get it to work) for the most part doesn't do this, it's more predictable? Has anyone else noticed this? I am talking 5 or 6 foot putts, that should have NO OTHER BUSINESS but to go in, ROLL OVER the hole OR hit a corner and roll away WTH?? Thanks.

I had always suspected this but never have been able to test it out myself. That being said there was a bug that caused the ball to roll over the hole without hoping/skipping/changing direction if the hole was on a slightly extreme slope. HB has tweaked it and it has happened a lot less than it has happened in the past, but it is still there.

To be fair, I have never tired using the mouse, but I can't say this is true for the xbox 360 wireless controller. Brighttail has been witness to my putts rolling over the center of the hole at very slow speeds, and I've seen it happen with his putts too. It seems to happen as much to one as it does to the other.

To be fair it is rare I see Brionne's putts go over the center of the cup, but that is what happens when you play with someone. I'll make a putt and he'll say, "Wow that missed the cup by 6 inches and rolled of the green on my screen."

I use my PS4 controller on PC.
That way, the game plays exactly the same on both platforms that I own.
I've never tried using a mouse. In fact I never use the mouse for gaming at all, always a controller if the game allows it.

I gave playing the game with a mouse a go and I was awfull. I take my hat off to you guys that use the mouse, I almost feel like you are at a disadvantage, as even though you can use a mouse, the game was designed with the controller in mind.

It absolutely was. I have a PS4 dual shock that i have tried unsuccessfully to play left handed. Just can't do it.

I use a Logitech controller, the wireless F710. I can't even imagine trying to use a mouse.
One thing, 'dual shock' has been mentioned. Mine has vibration on it too, I'm sure they all have. Is there any way to get it to work in TGC?

My dualshock I bought an inexpensive 4 dollar bluetooth adapter and then loaded up some software I found on the internet called DS4updater and it works perfectly. You can even map out the controls

I've used both a Logitech F310 controller and a Logitech M310 optical mouse. With the mouse, I can keep the line within the cone. Also I find it much easier to control the amount of backswing, so easy to control distance. Actually, I'm kind of dreading TGC2. If my rig isn't up to the task, rather than getting a new computer, I'll probably get a PS4. But then I'll have to learn the game all over again with the controller. Not a big fan of the controller.

I am guessing there is no easy way to switch between controller and mouse in game right? Only way would be to exit the game, disconnect the controller, start up the game and continue competition with mouse. Because it would be great to be able to pull that mouse out (only) for those 13-28yd shots from near the green when the green slopes back toward you. Partial shots with the controller cost me at least 1-2 strokes per game I would guess...
Actually I wonder if some people actually do this regardless of how cumbersome it must be to switch back and forth...

OH how I wish. I would use a mouse for all shots up to putting and then a controller for putting. Nope no easy way to switch without shutting down the game.
