Obviously my problem with this game is my style of driving, too agressive with the brakes, so no matter what I do, I destroy the tyres. Right now trying to improve that by braking a bit before, and more smoothly on the trigger. It should be the key factor to me, but after so much years of braking to the bottom of the trigger it's going to cost me

Well, I did it. I won my online league championship! I wasn't able to stream this last race as my computer was crashing and I didn't want to risk it for the race. I was 20 points up on my nearest rival, meaning if I finished 7th or higher (there were only 12 of us tonight), I would secure the championship regardless. We raced with guys from the upper division who were running no traction control. I was able to qualify first in my division, right behind the Div 1 cars. Forecast called for rain. The first 20 seconds of the race was pure Armageddon. The Div 1 car ahead of me couldn't gain traction off the start and slammed me into the wall, severely damaging my wing. Within 20 seconds, 3 cars were out of the race and the safety car came out. Here's a perspective of the mess that was the start of this race from one of the guys who wrecked very quickly. As you can see, I get taken out right at the start.
To pile on top of my wing damage, I ignored the safety car speed and was issued a drive through penalty...meaning 2 pit stops in the first 6 laps. I was almost certain I let this one slip away. However, I kept going and the other racers seemed to struggle in the rain as I crawled up from 9th to 3rd over the next 25 laps. My main competition ended up winning the race, but I secured enough points to take the championship.
I had a really strong mini season, I won the whole thing and even missed a race! 5 wins, a 2nd, a 3rd, a 9th and a DNS!

The start of the race in that video is insane! Congrats, Andre, on winning the championship!

Way to go, Andre! Was going to PM this morning to find out how it went, but found your post here first. Serious carnage in Brazil. Would have liked to have seen the race in full. Hopefully your PC issue isn't chronic... Already missing my regular dose of F1. Media is already reporting that Warrior's expecting a big raise for next season! :-) Very entertaining watching the PRL season and the Costanza Career Mode.

We just had a mess of a race in Singapore in career mode. A couple AI WTF moments put me into the wall less than 5 laps in with no chance to flashback. Shortest race of the career! Off to Malaysia tomorrow with heavy rain in the forecast.

Wheel Update.
Well I got the Thrustmaster T150 wheel for my birthday/Christmas and I've been getting to grips with it since. The first issue was getting it rigged up. I'm waiting for my Dad to make me a custom rig but until then I get an old coffee table out of the loft. It isn't perfect but it just about does the job. Using the wheel with F1 is great, I could never get to grips with gears and a controller but now with the wheel and paddles it's so much better. As is gradual braking and acceleration although as yet I've still got traction control and ABS on!!!!! So far I don't think I've found it any easier apart from the gears but it does feel great.

Brillant Boring Brazil!!!
I'm not sure if it was my familarisation with the track, getting used to my new wheel or unbalanced AI drivers but I trounced the field for an easy win here. Even tyre wear wasn't a problem. First in all practice sessions, scraped through Q1 in changing weather conditions and then a vey easy pole. Apart from pit stops I was in the lead from start to finish, ended up with a 20 second victory. Even though I was driving without any company I still enjoyed it, feels so fluid with the wheel. I've now secured 3rd with a small chance of 2nd with one round left. Convinced I'll stay with McClaren and win them the title back in season 2. Then maybe move to a top team in 3rd season. After almost 4 months(Limited time) I have to say that this is my most enjoyable F1 game of all time(Even better than Pit Stop II) and it's made even better with the wheel. Love it!

Maybe time to bump up the difficulty. I started my season on Medium but was doing too well in my lowly Renault so I bumped it up to hard. I've just done Hungary and I'm close to bumping up to Expert. I've won 3 out of the last 4 races in my now mid-pack Renault and I'm 3rd in the championship. The racing is great and I'm enjoying challenging the leaders but I really shouldn't be doing this well in this car.

coggin66 I'm thinking about reducing the aids first and then increasing difficulty if needed. This may have been a one off. I've certainly never had it that easy. Any other wins were hard fought.

Still trying to get a handle on car setups?
This might help a little. It's the first of a three-part video series covering all the elements of setting up a racing car -- from wing and rake to camber and toe, spring rate and dampers, and more... It's not super in-depth, but enough for novice racers to get a better idea of what's going on with a racing car, particularly with suspension geometry.

Really? Nobody's posted in this thread since like January? Well then, here's my favourite moment from recent F1 action. Best commentary ever:
