Can't say I agree with the Pogba/Mourinho over-rated comments, but lets see how the season plays out!
Personally I would be happy if we're at least fighting for the title this year until the very end. If we don't end up winning it but finish 2nd I'll be happy with the major progress we've at least made.
When he was in Madrid Mourinho proved to be very good at finishing second, so you might be satisfied in that... Real weren't doing too great before Mourinho joined, he won you the title while breaking records for most wins, etc (according to Wikipedia). You also got rid of him, or he left by "mutual agreement", just one year after completing this feat. Lets face it, Real never exactly keep hold of managers for long and, on top of that, finishing 2nd the odd occasion to the brilliance of Barcelona is hardly a massive failure.

For sure, real Madrid prior to Mourinho was second best team in spain. After Mourinho, real is the second best team in spain. And that's true, real Madrid is a managers smashing machine. Florentino Pérez, the chairman can't stand anyone not doing exactly what he wants the way he wants. I was referring to Mourinho. In the three years (or four, not sure) he spent in Madrid, he won one spanish cup, and one league I think. He could not do a thing against Guardiola. Those years were the best years of barça, i know, but the special one was, indeed the second one. So Yes, Mourinho IMO is very over-rated. He's had great teams and he has never been able to create a saga.

Awful start for us, same old problems. We keep the ball well but don't create enough and don't take chances when we do. At the back we can't cope with counter attacks and can't defend pieces. We have plenty of times to turn this around obviously but we won't beer going up playing like that.

I don't doubt Newcastle will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. Great start for us, very rare to get an opening day victory

I know there's plenty of time. I was just hoping to see if correct what went wrong last season

Villa played terrible in the first half (30% possession), finally got things sorted in the second..... then keeper makes a terrible clearance and they get no points. It's going to be another long season at this rate.

Well, I'm happy with the start...
Ipswich have had their spell in Top 2. They won't get back there now

Get in! Stones to Man City and we get 15% of the profit so best part of 7 million in the bank. Nice days work that!

Newcastle and us(Norwich) on paper should be top 2 comfortably. Newcastle have signed well and we are full of players too good for Champ but not quite good enough for Prem Unfortuantly though the Championship is not played out on paper! Personally anything outside Top 4 would be a bit disappointing but if offered 5th or 6th now i think I'd take it. We bounced straight back 2 years ago and predominantly that same team is still here now. Glad we didn't get Mccormack. 14m for a near 30 year old who's never scored in the Prem is excessive and a gamble imo. Newcastle Norwich should be top 2 but would I be surprised if both us and Newcastle don't go up? Not really as that's what the Championship is like! Bristol City you have got a great signing in Gary O Neil. The general consensus from Norwich fans is we would rather keep him as he is exactly what is needed for a championship battle. In the last 13 seasons we have had 8 promotion or relegations which is more than any other team in Europe in that time period so we know how to get it done, it's just going out there and doing it 03/04 - Champ (Promoted) 04/05 - Prem (Relegated) 05/06 - Champ 06/07 - Champ 07/08 - Champ 08/09 - Champ (Relegated) 09/10 - League 1 (Promoted) 10/11 - Champ (Promoted) 11/12 - Prem 12/13 - Prem 13/14 - Prem (Relegated) 14/15 - Champ (Promoted) 15/16 - Prem (Relegated) 16/17 - Champ (Promoted???) At least we are always entertained unlike the scum down the road who have sat in the Championship for the last 14 years lol Us and the Newcastle nailing the top 2 spots and the scummers down the road comfortably enjoying their 17th Not sure I could have predicted it any better although tbh was it such a hard one?!

I'm sure Chief you'd acknowledge the field mouse played a big part in turning you around last season. Shame about Hammill though, he would have looked good in a nicer shade of red Great league, the Championship. First priority is just staying in it. But if all else fails at least we can have a good laugh at Sheffield United I was going to comment but as a life long Sheffield United fan I'll just bite my lip and continue to wallow in mediocrity

I really can't believe you lot have been in League One for so long.

So, I'm also a Magpies fan, for no other decent reason other than I like underdogs, I like the black & white kit, and I loved the "Goal!" film series (well, the first one anyways) - have been following their exploits for about 7-8 years. One Christmas, my kid and wife pitch in to get me an Andy Carroll jersey, and like 30 days later he's dished off to Liverpool for 35 million.
Have to admit that I haven't followed much since their relegation this season, no Championship TV coverage here where I am. :-(
