We're shooting for a different concept with this contest, so hopefully you all find it fun, interesting, and we get a good turnout.
This is a design contest for CC courses...tourney style.
The idea is that we have 16 people minimum. The contest will be broken down into 4 themes : desert, countryside, delta, and rustic. The idea is to have 4 people per theme, selecting your theme is first come first serve. Once a theme has 4 people, it is unavailable for selection until all 4 themes are filled. If we have more than 16 then it is first come first serve adding 1 person per theme until theme groups are balanced (meaning: if you're #17 you can pick your theme. Say #17 picks desert...number #18 can pick anything but desert. #19 picks between the remaining 2 themes..#20 has the final theme. #21 would start over able to pick whatever.) If you need more clarification feel free to pm me and I'll answer all of your questions.
Upon due date, judging will commence with a bracket style tournament. Each theme group will be judged 1v1 by a set panel of judges and guest judges. For example we'll do desert theme: if there are 4 entries into desert, entry 1 will matchup against entry 4, 2 versus 3. The winner of each will match up 1v1 with the winner of said matchup winning the theme group and advancing to the "final 4". All seeding will be done via random draw. In the case of more than 4 in a particular theme group, "byes" will be randomly drawn.
Now the good part: the winner of each theme group will host an upcoming CC tour venue and advance to the "final 4". The final 4 will be 1v1v1v1 where a public poll will decide the Summer Showdown Grand Champion. The overall winner will receive a $150.00 (US dollars) Visa e-card giftcard (available to use online or in a store) and given the right to design a course that will be featured as a major in the upcoming season.
Registration is open from now until June 15. Your course will be due on midnight CST(UTC -5) on Sunday, August 15, 2016. Hopefully we can work something out with Canuck and Elz about broadcasting some of the judging. Judging will commence starting August 16 and last until the champ is crowned. Public polls for "final 4" will be posted and highlighted. It goes without saying, no courses already started or refurbished courses.

All theme submissions and replies will be handled in this thread for transparency...it's first come first serve. I will be updating the thread per entry to let people know what's available.
Please, NO WIP THREADS. There are no issues with beta testing, but please try to keep it somewhat on the downlow. The goal is release the courses in theme groups as they are being judged or at least as close to the same date as possible. I'll have more info on this as the field fills up.
