My comments weren't meant to be directed right at you or this course in particular. I was saying I have a problem with a course being published then at the last second the course is 'tweaked' to make it more difficult. In every case this has happened on the TGC it is a rushed job and more times than not ends up with some very unfair hole placements. The argument then has always been, "Well you are the elite you should be able to deal with it." While that may be true or not, it is never fun to have a 10 foot down hill putt of 8inches where if you go less than one grid past the hole, you roll down a red slope and are 20 feet away or off the green.
The original course you had was easy, yes, but it was fair. The course you published now is still fairly easy but has 3 or 4 holes that can be death traps. My complaint is with the rush to get it done which resulted in some unfair things.

It's ok I'll take the hit if they are over the fairness line (Need to go replay myself as I obviously didn't think they were at the time). I've had enough positive comments to last a lifetime with the original so it is good to know if you step the other side of that line. I tempted him into letting me put out a new set of pins and given how well the PGA event has gone you'd expect me to be a safe pair of hands so you can't blame him for jumping at it . I didn't feel like I rushed it, but then again I spent days pouring over the 5 setups for the original...

Seriously bud, the work that you did with Tye Dunes the original far surpassed anything else that has been on the tour for the last year. You should be damn proud on that accomplishment. This course has some good potential with some more play and feedback i think.

I agree... I could make the argument that the original Tye Dunes is one of the best, if not the best to date in TGC.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. I have to say having played those elite pins and trying to get on the wrong side of them... I hate them... Damn the designer... I'd suggest going back to plan A :-D...

I frustrated quit on a hole today. I hit it just a little long, which is fine, there is a hill there. Ball rolled slowly to the hole...then slowly inch by inch, kept going. 43 seconds later I'm 30 feet down a hill wondering what the hell just happened?

Round 4 matches are finalized... scores due by 11:59 pm on Saturday. Round 5 will go up sometime around 11:59 pm on Friday, or earlier if all of the scores get posted by then.

Good luck Bob. Not entirely sure when I'm going to have the time at all to play this round. Might have to do it when I get back from an event Thursday night. Friday and Saturday are pretty much shot for my schedule. Unless I want to play while plastered at 2 am on Saturday...

Seeing as Ron hasn't stopped playing Tye Dunes II since it was announced, I'm not sure if I will make it through this one

Seeing as Ron hasn't stopped playing Tye Dunes II since it was announced, I'm not sure if I will make it through this one I've played it like 2 times full through + 1 rage quit. LOL. I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to play when it comes tourney time. I'll either get like -14 or -4. I'm a person of extremes.

I landed pin high and ended up back to the front of the green.

Better than before, but missed several chances. GL!

Sorry... didn't enjoy it at all. I don't like it if you are punished when your approach shot it 5 inches next to your planned landing spot, and your ball goes to nirvana for that. Rushed through my round therefore and shot a disappointing 72 (F9: 37; B9: 35). It's definitely possible to score on that course, but not if you are having an unlucky day. Good luck to anyone for the remaining rounds, especially to fuzion who will definitely beat that score.

Longest putt I made was 7 feet. Missed 3 putts within 5 feet for birdies. Anybody want to guess which hole that bit me the most on? (Hint: It's the 5-over on #13 that I left myself pin high with 4' to the hole, lipped out towards the fun red slope and then proceeded to go another 63 feet off the green. Might actually take the cake for the worst pin position I've seen yet, and that's including Cuyahoga's par 3 (#5)!) Needless to say I was pretty mad the 4th time the ball rolled back to my feet because the yellow slope on the back side took my ball to the red slope on the other side...Same results putting and chipping. Just rushed through the rest of the round after that sh%$. Note: Since I think you are looking for feedback, I enjoyed most of the pin positions with the softer greens. But #13 is just stupid. I understand having massive false fronts, but I don't think it's necessary to have a significant hill leading to that false front 2-3 yards away from the pin that will most likely leave your ball going down that front. And I had these problems coming from the front of the pin. Good luck if you're behind the pin, that's for sure.

In our talk, I think that's the one pin he would take back. It definitely means you have to be below the hole and hope to get up and down. Nasty little 125 yard par 3.
