TGC Tours - Moving Month
Buckle up! TGC Tours is having it's first moving month on the Challenge Circuit and the Web.com Tour. For the month of February the cutline percentages for Sponsor Exemptions will be set at double the standard. Will be lots of movement so play your best golf and try to work your way up the flights!
February Cutline %'s (Sponsor Exemptions, Demotion Strikes)
CC-A, CC-Z: 10%, 40%
CC-B, C, D, E: 30%, 40%
Web.com: 10%, NA
Clear Demotion Strikes Cutline
Keep in mind that demotions strikes are cleared when you are given an exemption so effectively the 'clear demotions' cutline for February will be all players getting an exemption for CC-B, C, D and E. CC-A will remain at 22.5%
Special Qualifiers
From time to time you'll see Special Qualifiers announced. The sole purpose of these qualifiers is to back fill pro tours that are low in active members. Our first Special Qualifier will be for the European Tour (Week 21). Expect another for the Web.com tour shortly after. It's not likely we'll need one for the PGA Tour.
European Tour - Special Qualifier
yes again, will it change again? yes?! what? why?!
- before you read what's tweaked know that the WGR will need to be re-run after W15 due to some minor events on the PGA/Euro tours not being flagged properly from Season 1 - this will happen following W15's finalization sometime during the upcoming week - again we'll not stop until it's done to our high standards - it's very complicated but we're almost there!
- we use a formula (see below) to determine your WGR points for each tournament based on where you finish and what tour you played
- it has been re-weighted to give a better spread of points (both in finish positions and across flights/tours)
- slightly tweaked off the OWGR formula so that it was easier to code/implement for TGC Tours
- each position gives you unique points (wasn't the case in original WGR)
Formula
((101/sqrt(finish)) - sqrt(finish)) * tour factor
** sqrt = square root
Tour Factors
Majors = 1.6
WGC = 1.4
PGA/Euro (regular events) = 0.8

CC-C = 0.0175 CC-Z = 0.00125
Dynamic "cutlines"
- New dynamic cutlines on all CC leaderboards will clearly show who will get sponsor exemptions, demotion strikes as well as who will have their demotion strikes cleared
- Web.com will have dynamic cutlines for earning exemptions
- Cutlines will be a % of the Field (larger fields will have more exemptions/demotions strikes available than a smaller field)
- Cutlines will appear on the leaderboard when R3 is revealed (after late registrations close down)
Initial %'s (based off total field)
Sponsor Exemptions
- 5% = CC-A and Z
- 15% = CC-B though E
Demotion Strikes
- 40% = CC-A through E
Clear Demotion Strikes
- 22.5% = CC-A through E
Examples
Tour Field Exemptions Demotion X's Clear Dem. X's
CC-A 90 Top 9 54 or worse Top 21
CC-E 113 Top 23 68 or worse Top 26
Sponsor Exemption Tweak
- Must be even par or better for the event to qualify for a Sponsor's Exemption (all flights/tours)
Challenge Circuit - Winners Auto-Promoted
- All Challenge Circuit winners will be auto promoted one flight/tour up
- Web.com Tour will still have to make use of exemption and qualify
- Winners will have to wait until Sunday (when we finalize the week) before their tour card will update - it will happen at the same time you receive your trophy card
