Going up makes you better at the game mate. I went up, got my card and have made every cut. Remember its not about gunning for top every week, its about getting consistently better.

Chris is right pal I got my exemption 2 weeks ago and it is a different kettle of fish. I have made 2 cuts so far and the courses are a lot tougher, I am no where near competing but I definitely getting better, it is a long way to the top.I'll probably never win a comp but I feel playing with the best is the only way to get better. So far I have finished 56th and 31st but couldn't be happier, although I do miss the banter in Web :-)

I don't know. I'm struggling a bit with being in the PGA now. I like the tougher challenge and the courses are by far better. They also have a ton of activities (Ryder Cup, Fed Ex Points, President's Cup, etc) but I won't be competing for that stuff. I think so far it is just overwhelming. By that I mean I worked really hard to get better since starting this game. I made steady improvement from CC circuits to Web. But watching what these guys do on the PGA every week I feel like I'm about 20% of the way there and not really sure how to improve that much more. I understand the game well enough. I can do the math. It is mostly execution and you just can't make a single mistake. You can't miss putts and have any chance...and these putts are harder for me consistently, so I'm really struggling. I played my first round last night and hit 3 balls out of bounds. Just disastrous. But it didn't really matter because I can't compete any ways.
I feel like I reached my goal but it suddenly isn't that much fun. I had one good week on the Web and the rest were middle of the pack hoping to make the cut. Don't know...really struggling with it all right now. I think I'd drop down if I got the chance.

Don't worry I had 5 double bogies in the first two rounds - even the top 10 have off weeks!

(By the way, wish the game would handle unplayable better...I couldn't find a spot to hit from). +2, -4 in my first two rounds = a missed cut. But the course was awesome! I think my point is I don't know hot to get better enough that I can feel as if I am competing. I feel like I've come a long way and am just realizing...whoa...I'm not even close.

Don't be too hard on yourself Yaters you have potential just give it a couple of weeks and if you still feel the same drop down. I know it is disheartening but At least you have a trophy :-) and that was an outstanding performance on web and believe me Web is hard to win, so we know you have potential.i'll never get a trophy haha but my aim is just to make cuts and rack up some prize money for the season and get better playing with these guys. It will probably take me a couple of seasons to get anywhere near top ten but I'm willing to wait but for now its all a big learning curve but be proud of yourself man regardless if you drop down or not, you made it to the top :-)

Good words nantez. And I hear what you mean. There are certainly things to be proud of. I just feel very out-classed and over my head currently.

Personally I think if your good enough to get top 5 in web and make the cut in PGA/Euro you deserve your spot! I got to web missed the first 3 cuts and just said I need to play more and think better since ive only missed 1 cut and have been although not raking in the dollars consistently playing 2/3 solid rounds I've now to get myself to the standard to shot 4 of them and push up to top 30,10 then 5.
My major annoyance is when someone gets a top 5 and doesn't take it for whichever reason it causes a block for promotions.
I don't mind the reasons each to there own but when there is 5 slots for exemptions taken up week after week by lads who don't want to go up it can mean only 4321 or none of the spots will get taken thus blocking the filling of PGA/Euro which im sure is what everyone wants.
If I finish 6th by a shot and it turns out a few lads in the top 5 renege on there exemption it would drive me spare!
The amount of Exemptions that are been binned is rather frustrating I know one player that has reneged on 5 of them.
Now just to be clear its not the player I'm frustrated with each to there own just because I don't agree doesn't mean its wrong just an opinion. Its the amount of valuable exemptions been tossed away if only they got passed down the line to the 6th/7th places I wouldn't be bothered as much by it then.
Ive had a 25th and nothing better this year and its a purely an observation and opinionated response but that's my thoughts.

Yep I am with you Moe. I think exemptions for Top 5 should be mandatory. You don't mistakenly shoot a Top 5 in Web. It means somewhere in there you have the game. Take a shot at PGA/Euro and if it is not for you, then come back down. You can make any excuse you want, but you will never actually know unless you try.

Absolutely the exemptions should be mandatory IMO. I have believed this from the start. The whole system gets skewed when players stay put just to consistently finish higher. Think about your own progress in this game and the reasons that are being stated for not wanting to move up( not finishing in the top i.e. competing). If the good players artificially stay lower it effects ALL of the players who are competing to get better and move up past those who don't want to move. I have made all but one cut on the WEB this year but have never finished higher than #38. I could drop down to CC-A and win a tournament but what does that really do for me other than stroke my golf ego. Keep the flow of the tours legitimate or else everyone suffers IMO. Rise and grind

Agree 100% they should be mandatory I am up on pga but I finished 6th in web and 2 of the top 5 from the week before stayed and prevented me from getting an exemption and I was gutted. I really feel if lads want to stay in web then maybe 6th,7th etc should be given the exemptions instead just to make it fair like anything in life.if they looked into that it would be great.. plenty of sandbagging going on to throughout the lower end of TGC which is a shame too. I won't name names but I've seen guys scorecards with triple bogies etc on their last 9 holes That don't add up, anything to stop them going up plus guys withdrawing for weeks hoping their mandatory exemption dissapears

Pretty much agree here but it is possible to fluke a top 5. Hell, I was 6th once. Since then I've missed more cuts than I've made. I think if you win it should be mandatory and if you get 2-3 top 5s it should be mandatory. I also think it's reasonable for exemption spots to be offered to people in 6th etc. but I guess that would mean manual work for the admin team.

Yeah that's true pal I think if all exemptions were mandatory it would solve a lot of problems as heman said just try it out and and if they don't make the cut they'll go back to web. At least it will let other guys have a chance the week the top 5 are up on their exemption And as iI think Moe was saying keep the flow of players going up. It has a knock on effect throughout the tiers web is very hard to get out of and is crammed with more players coming in each week but very few leaving
