Who wants to step and provide these two great venues so we can have all 4 2016 majors at their real tracks!? We already have Magnolia of course, and Yeltzman's Royal Troon is a shoe in for the Open Championship.
Part of my vision was one day be able to play the real PGA and EURO on the real courses as much as we could.
If you're an established designer with a proven track record in our course database, please let us know if you want to take this on. Honorary exemption on the line to play in the event!
Thanks! Tim

Oakmont is about 20 percent done. Will be ready in plenty of time for the US open.

Im updating Troon into the Highland theme like i did with Lytham.I'll do a 4 pin set up only thing which is concerning me is the opening holes at troon play so short for this game i got a feeling it will be taken apart without a decent wind.Just a question really would you prefer it to stay in links theme (doesnt look so good)but can get winds up to 30mph,Or a better looking course but winds can only get up to 15-16mph.I perfer the links theme to be honest but it is rather bland. But the downside to above if winds do get up to 20-25mph and its against on back nine 2 or 3 of the par 4s wont be able to reach, any views be interesting to see.

There is certainly plenty of information available on the course to do a good job. I hope you take and currently consider Glen Abbey a shoe in for the Canadian Open as well. I did not think initially it could be done, but I nailed it, if I do say so myself. However, moving forward you might find it a pretty good motivator for me to confirm that as: I am unclear of and I'm currently receiving extremely mixed messages regarding my standing as "an established designer with a proven track record in our course database". We need clear that up, or not, up to you. I'm working on Riviera. I'm likely 4 to 12 weeks out though. RLC is now going to be my only thing. But there is a certain level of info I need, and not all courses have enough available, and I will not make it up or guess, or use Google earth pro for elevation data alone. And I could not agree more with this, "Part of my vision was one day be able to play the real PGA and EURO on the real courses as much as we could."

Yep - have started Baltusrol, have about 15 holes traced out. The issue is that there is no good green info available so I'm trying to gather that. If anyone has an old yardage/green book that would help a lot. If anyone wants to help out I'd be happy to take a partner on board (on PC).
I like Tim's vision a lot and naturally that is what the TST will do / is doing already. Glen Abbey and Troon are locks for the TST as are any other decent RCRs that come out.
The issue I see with playing real courses on the regular Euro and PGA tours is that they will get absolutely brutalized unless the designers makes special narrow versions with tricked up pins and greens. Either way kind of defeats the purpose of having them in the first place. Not much TGCT can do about that short of cutting aids for the PGA and EURO.
On the CC tour they make a great fit and they work really well on the TST as well.

On the CC tour they make a great fit and they work really well on the TST as well. I don't think they have to get slaughtered. I think we need more true to life sloping and sculpting. i.e many tour courses in RL you will hardly ever find a flat lie in the fairway on a shorter hole under 450 yards and you would absolutely in game see red and yellow all over many of those greens. These courses tend to get tamed down in game significantly by the designer for whatever reason. JMHO, but the yardages and fairway widths tend to lead to easy courses if the difficulty does not come from elsewhere. These flat lie fairways need to go, and the greens need be sloped much more significantly. Ok I'm talking Glen Abbey again, however I flew in with google earth pro and placed trees precisely where they were on the real course. I then carefully sized them in a way that they would come into play on the tour version of the course. There is almost no flat lie in the fairway anywhere to be found. Pin placement on slopes, I made those putts hard, very hard. 7400 yards with medium firmness greens and huge fairways is normally a recipe for slaughtered. So far a number of very good players have gone around the Sunday version, the one meant to be the hardest, and have only managed -7. Play white or black tee version of Glen Abbey, and we see -17, same course, same conditions, much shorter yardage on the tour version, but tour version is significantly much harder. Its the slopes and I brought the trees that are supposed to be in play, in play. I'd love to have the Augusta file for a few days, LOL, just kidding, maybe.

someone shot 11 under on ps4 on sunday version glen abbey on ps4.
Until HB does something about the amount of Loft you can put on clubs so the Top players can't stop the ball where they want,You either need to trick it up with pins close to slopes and bunkers,or trick greens up so it plays difficult,in troon's case as bobby Locke says Royal troon The best greens in the world.

Ye yeltz. Id like to see loft and deloft of only one box and the width of the cone narrowed. Troon is very nice. I look forward to playin it again.

Tim I like the real courses for the majors, but to be honest, I'd rather play fictional user-created courses for most of the others. Most of the real life courses are pretty straight-forward and boring.
