I've not heard of Bell X1 but I'll give it a try. I agree with Pink Floyd, Dire Straits on your top list. Both great albums. The Muse album is good too but I prefer their first. I've not really listed to Springsteen albums so I'll give that one a try. I think that's the only Snow Patrol album I've not listened too so I'll give that a try too. Out of your other list I like them all but haven't listed to Tom Petty. I'm not one for instrumentals. I've not had a chance to listen to most of the suggestions above but I'll get on it soon. I'm going to Leeds City Festival in two weeks time and I've been listening to bands playing there. I've found some great new ones too. I got the tickets to see Circa Waves but give the following bands a listen too -
Glass Caves(Band from York, they will be playing for free in Leeds City Centre(Briggate) if you live in the area (12PM)) Fronteers(Remind me of Cast) Mystery Jets (I'd not listen to these before, I love them now) The Sherlocks (Another unsigned band, great) DMAs (My new favourite band, there new album is cracking, they remind me slightly of Oasis, highly recommended) Sundra Karma - another clash for me but a new band well worth a listen
There is so much other stuff on too, it's a great line up for £35!!!! We Are Scientists and Band of Skulls are also playing but they clash with Circa Waves

That's mad I seen the mystery jets a few years ago in Dublin they are great, very underated and most people I know have never heard them. You've a good taste in music anyway man. See I love guitar and play so that's why I love lead guitar instrumental stuff haha love David Gilmore from Pink Floyd, I've seen The Australian Pink Floyd about 4 times they are the closest you'd get to the real thing and are good value for money, hell of a light show too. Seen Mark Knopler from Dire Straits twice you should like him I believe he has Jordie roots :-)

nantez88 Have you listened to Mystery Jets new album? It's got some cracking songs on, I can't wait to see them. Cheers mate, we are in the minority these days! I love guitar too and love a good instrumental in a song but have never really gone for full instrumental, I think it's because lyrics are important to me as well as the music. I have heard The Australian Pink Floyd are really good but I've not managed to see them yet. Yeah, he is a Geordie. The only time I've seen him live was when he took part in the Great North Run Opening Ceremony a couple of years ago. As well as the Dire Straits stuff I love his Going Home: Theme Of The Local Hero which they used to play before Newcastle matches, still get goose bumps when I hear that now.

I can play about 60% of that on the guitar it's a touching piece of music. I seen Knopler 10 years ago and got right up the front under his microphone. I was almost able to touch his runners haha ( would have got the guitar skills if I touched him) ha the photo's I got from that gig were amazing. No man I haven't heard their new album been busy with my new born lately but if I get a chance I'll put it onto a usb and listen to it in the car going to work. What's the name of it?

I wish I could play! Very touching, especially for Geordies. Ha ha, sounds great. Its called curve of the earth. Off line Spotify in the car is the way I normally listen to music.

I've enjoyed listening to all of your suggestions, Honestly nothing has really caught me imagination but that just shows how everyone has different taste even in such a small genre. Still, though I've enjoyed listening and expanding my music horizons, please keep up the recommendations.
It's been a while since I've made any so I though I'd do one now.
I already mentioned DMA'S in a previous post but I really want to stress how much I love them. I found out they are actually from Australia, their album is really good especially if you are an Oasis fan. Debut Album - Hills End Best Songs - Timeless, Lay Down, Too Soon, Straight Dimensions
I'd also like to recommend a local band called The Longsands, thought provoking lyrics and some good tunes. They are releasing a new album soon but check out their debut attempt, Meet Me In Spanish City is well worth a listen. Best songs - Worlds Collide, Streets & Pavements, Let Love Rain On You
My final recommendation is The Stones Roses. Just in case one of you hasn't listed to them I though I would mention them here. Part of the start of the whole Alt-Rock/Indie movement and one of the best. I was lucky to see them live after they reformed and they were pretty amazing. Saying that, I can't comment how good Ian Browns singing was because I think I sung every work to every song! They only had two albums and their self titled debut album is an absolute stunner. Best song, I Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs the Drums, Waterfall, I Am the resurrection, Sally Cinnamon, Fools Gold, Ten Story Love Songs
