TGC Tours is pleased to announce the appointment of another staff member - Matt Lampitt (Matt10). Many of you know Matt as the creator of the Realistic Golf Tour - a no aids tour that turns TGC into a true test of golf. It's also exciting to announce that Matt and his team will be shifting their tour, which will be rebranded as the True Sim Tour, to TGC Tours for the start of Season 2. Matt and his team will continue to run the league here at TGC Tours.
Some tweaks will come to the True Sim Tour for season 2 - including moving to a 4-round format and shifting to our schedule of 8 days. With access to the API and all the automation here at TGC Tours, Matt should be able to free up more time to fine tune his tour and improve on the best no-aids experience in the game today.
Keep an eye out on the forums here for additional boards for both the True Sim Tour and Speed Golf in the near future.
Welcome Matt and company!

Matt will be a wonderful addition here. He's a really good guy who created a fantastic realistic tour over at RGT. His vision deserves to have a bigger platform to shine. We got this news over at RGT earlier and to start with I was a little apprehensive as to whether it was a good move. I guess it felt like the big conglomerate swallowing the small business guy. But after hearing from Matt and Tim I think that it's the right move. I guess that the membership will increase greatly and the addition of the API will be a big boost for the tour. I just hope that we get the same vibe now that it's moving here. The atmosphere, sense of humour and friendship over at RGT is second to none. Everybody is on the same wavelength and is willing to help each other out as much as they can. Here's looking forward to TST, although I'll still think of it as RGT Playing without aids is the pure way to play this game. Yes it can be very frustrating (I got very frustrated in this weeks BMW) but much more rewarding than regular competition. Where else would you get a fist pumping moment when you hole a putt over 5 feet

Press Tent Dave was going to stop by and say hello, but he can't remember his e mail account password to finish registering his account, hopefully I've helped him out and sent the verification mail to my work account so I can get him registered tomorrow lol.

Just out of curiousity i thought i'd have a go with no aids for the first time. -4 through 15 holes (next to no wind though) Think i am a cert to take part as of next season. Had no idea it was this much fun

Had no idea it was this much fun Wow. Surprise surprise it was 15-20 wind in our tournament (we do 3 rounds for non majors at the moment). I got it to -9. Hung on with 2 pars to get the lead. We've had a variety of scores during the year by trying to find the right balance of course for everyone to play. Its always the putting that kills everyone as its hard to read some greens, look from the front it looks to slope one way and if you look from behind the cup it looks as though its the opposite. Ian has the most wins this year and he ended up about -38 at Pellaway. We seem to find that real course re creations play the best, but we've also had a blast on courses like Doak Valley, Yuchi, Gator Hole, Blackbird Creek, Oakmere and a couple of my courses that were made for no aids. Brad even managed -26 over 4 rounds of Magnolia.

Yeah, i 3 putted a couple of times thanks to complete misreads (to be expected i guess). Would probably have been 80 something in those winds lol Great fun though, and i actually found myself playing a bit quicker than usual as every shot wasn't an exact calculation like it is when you have all the info....
