The main thing is not to get frustrated. As I said, the putting is the hardest, wind isn't too bad now as in tournaments in pretty much stays the same strength all round......just remember to watch the fly over of the hole as thats you're only chance of seeing where the pin is before you get near there.

I just started playing over on the RGT and I find it incredibly satisfying...once I figured out how to read greens (sort of). I shot under par in my third round of the last tourney and felt more accomplished than a sub 60 round with aids on! Will definitely be playing TST every week now that it is over here as well!

That's the general consensus - Some of my par or bust rounds have been the most fun I've played - it's slightly more hard-core than what the TST will be in Season 2 but only because I do things on it that aren't enforceable on a tour.

Somehwere McBoggas head is exploding But seriously, this is pretty cool. Might be tempted into some no aids play myself Haha - boom! Time for some "proper" golf - mate. Seriously though - it's more satisfying (and frustrating at times) than aids on and seems timing is right as more people are looking for something to up the challenge a bit. Looking forward to this a lot! Will be interesting to see the putt stats. From mine and chrashbirds data on the RGT it seems that putting is much more in line with RL tour play on realistic courses.

Being a part of RGT for awhile now and becoming great friends with Matt. You couldn't ask for a better guy to run this thing. Matt is class all the way. Going to miss RGT and the small community there. As someone else said I feel like the big guy is swallowing up the little guy. But I know after talking with matt, he was happy. and for my friends thats all i want. Happiness.
I too will obviously be involved as well as playing.

I'm not sure many people realize how much of a time saver the API is with regards to verifying the scores weekly. Matt is still verifying all scores manually. That will no longer be the case after they shift over here. He will have a much happier home life - with more free time to either play golf or plug back into his tour. I know it can look like big fish swallowing small fish - but it's really two similar fishes finding each other and swimming off together to play some golf! There is also the added benefit of all the stats that Tim can pull from the APIs and who loves stats more than the sim crowd the TST will cater to? Again, it's still Matt's tour - he's just gaining access to tools that will make his life much more stress free behind the scenes.

So... Was I right? Last night I stumbled onto something interesting; tgctours.com/Tour/SeasonStats?tourId=5But to be fair it has an ID of 5 so it's been there awhile. But it does have interesting tournament names.. I think it debuts next season

We originally planned on launching with it but scrapped it last second. Makes sense to run a sim tour with our user base as it is now (very large) but we didn't want to compete with Matt's tour so we asked if he wanted to join us and run the tour under the TGC Tours umbrella - win win for everyone as I know how much admin work it takes to run a weekly tour and the API is another way of spelling 'time saver'. Those were the original tournament names which will be recycled back into the ones that get assigned to the CC and off-weeks on Web.com Tour. So, I guess so?!

So we have officially arrived, Now Doyley mentioned that it is still Matts tour, so the way I understand that remark is, that it shall be played as if its was still RGT, I am asking really if all the rules and regs we have made over the past 30+ weeks, making the tour we had, will they be coming with us to here.
Over on RGT we had a small community who played week in, week out, predominantly through trust with one another to abide by the rules we have in place.
That being said, I am going to get this off my chest now before we begin as I will be coming over as a moderator as I was on RGT, now my only issue at the moment is this,,
Lots of players signed up initially to play RGT when it first began, and within weeks, they stopped and never played again, now if these people all of a sudden go, I want to play now cos its on TGCT, I find this a touch out of order,,, but,, I also say welcome, good luck, learn how to play step by step, as this is the most Frustrating, Annoying, Awarding, Exciting way to play.
Good luck Matt hope the transition goes smoothly.
BRING ON THE NEW SEASON.

Talk to your leader I would assume so! Aside from the changes needed here (but it sounds like you guys were headed that way anyways) requiring the tour to go 4 rounds instead of 3 - the rest of the rules are between the TST admin and the members that play.

Yea, I still think the members of RGT is thinking we are taking this over, but we are not. This is still Matt's tour and the guys that were under him. You all will still be the moderators in the forums and will abide by the rules set forth by him and his committee. We're here just to provide the underlying platform for him to grow and spend less time manually entering stats and more timing enjoying the tour. Put yourself in Matt's shoes. Not many people could keep it going a long as he has. We don't want to see it die.

Yea thanks Tim, i have come to the realisation now that RGT will continue as it is now, just under the new name TST, and as for Matt unbeknown by many, he as infact put some of his own money, yes u read correctly, into trying to make RGT better,, now i will also thank the TGCT team for not creating there own no aids tour and merging with Matt and the rest of us, so that Matt can now relax a little, and who knows maybe even improve, ,but to also allow all of us to continue playing the game the most frustrating way.
